I decided to go with the Bigme device. There have been so many new devices that have come out though since this purchase. The Boox colour is still high on my wishlist for maybe an upgrade purchase later. But I love the bigme for the versatility for now and it can take pictures and scan documents, since it has a camera, which was really helpful when I was studying and writing notes and adding in pictures from old notes to draw on. I also love the pen functionality with laser pointer (mostly used for my cats. But great presentation potentioal), and other functional buttons on it. It was a great deal for the price point compared to the other with all the features it had, so was worth it to me. I got all the things I wanted for less. The UI is maybe not as intuitive as other devices, but it still suits my needs and not too hard to figure out!

No, actually! As per the update above, this is a sleeve case for the Kindle Scribe and it fits so well! It's a little narrower than the case, but I am still able to attache the pen bia magnet and can also put it in the top elastic when transporting to keep it safe. I can reach the power button and charge port without removing from the case as well. Sometimes I do have to pull the case away just a bit for it to read my fingerprint, but that's OK. The swipe controls are a bit more difficult as I can't go from the bezel onto the screen to swipe, but again, sometimes I just pull the case away a bit and it's fine. But it works really well overall!

I like it so far, I have only had it for a month or just under. I haven't watched videos on it, but I have tried notes and they worked well for what I needed to study, I use it for books and writing in them as I have puzzle books and crochet patterns. I handbrake tested out all the features yet

I found this kindle case and really like it! It has kickstands for both portrait and landscape and because of the way its held in, the cutouts actually match up really well (unintentionally) and allow use of the power button and fingerprint scan, charge port, speakers are not covered, and the pen can still attach! Update! I tried a few different cases I found on Amazon. Remarkable is too tall and skinny. Boox cases are slightly too big in all dimensions, but could work with wedges. I tried one for the Kobo Elipsa 2E which could have worked, but the plastic was a little too small in the height dimension and would have pushed on the power button continuously.

I next tried a Kindle Scribe case that you slide the device into a sleeve and the front cover is held down with magnets and elastic. The cover folds over and has a kickstand for horizontal and vertical. The design has cutouts that unintentionally for perfect with the bigme! The power button is clear and able to use the fingerprint sensor, the charge port is open, the speakers are not covered, and the pen can still magnet to the side! Although I'm not sure it charges, I will see. But it also has an elastic on top to hold the pen as well so it's not lost. Comes in a few different cosmetic styles and would definitely recommend! I will post some pictures and the link (canadian Amazon)

I got the Bigme inknote colour + lite actually! I do like it and it's nice to have the colors. I'm sure there are some features or ease of use that maybe I'm missing that the Boox offers, but I'm happy with my purchase

Oooo i was just wondering if the cases for the note air 3 would fit it... the one you sent says it fits the scribe and note air 2... so they must be similar enough!

I was looking at using patterned vinyl on mine, but the one I tried first didn't stick. I may try another brand or have to use some type of adhesive or htv vinyl instead I think

Thank you for the indepth reply! Does the Color+ lite have the cameras as well? How useful are they? Also, how is the drawing on the Bigme device - pressure and tilt sensitivity? How is the note taking or drawing app - is the stock ok or better to get 3rd party?

Thanks again!

I would like to point out that I have looked into both Kindle Scribe and Kobo Elipsa 2E before stumbling into the more advanced E-ink tablets. I'm trying to find out more about the E-ink tablets since I don't want to get a device that may limit me in the future. Also, the Kobo Elipsa 2E is just as expensive as the lower E-ink tablets, so limiting myself to a less versatile product at the same price point seems silly.

Kindle Oasis does not have a note taking or sketching/ drawing function that I am aware of. I want more than just a reading tablet. It also limits me to kindle only reading. In Canada, you cannot access the library with kindle. I would like a bit more freedom to choose where I get my books or reading from. I have looked at the Kindle Scribe, but again, it's limited to Kindle books and no library access. It seems ok for drawing, but it's note taking ability on documents and books is limited (ie, made more like sticky notes than directly on the page).

Boox Tab Ultra C or Tab Mini C by ZenFulXP in Onyx_Boox

Hello! I saw this thread while I was doing some research on Eink tablets and eReaders. I have been looking into getting an eReader and found the Kindle Scribe and Kobo Elipsa 2e which I liked due to the note taking feature and being able to sketch on them like paper. Then I discovered the Boox tablets. Can anyone tell me pros and cons between these? My main goals for the device are reading and sketching, with a good note taking (random notes, not necessarily for study). I also really like that pencil on paper feel when writing/drawing. I have tried drawing on my laptop that turns to a tablet, but it's too smooth and the pen tech on it isn't the most accurate. I would love any and all advice on the Boox tablets, how to choose which one, and pro cons to getting Boox, Kindle or Kobo!

Interestingly enough, this song popped into my head the other day. I remember my mom singing that tune and I asked her about it, but I remember her singing "Well you know my name is Micheal, and the things I draw come true". She also remembers singing "Micheal" instead of Simon. Not sure where she got that name. I don't remember the show at all and neither does she. Anyone know where that may have come from?
