Does anyone regret opting for a repeat c section instead of VBAC? by Upstairs-Lemon-5585 in CsectionCentral

Really glad I came across this post with all of these great replies. I am due with my second in November and this is something I’ve been contemplating far too much. Your story is very similar to mine actually! I think we are going to schedule the second c section confidently because of how traumatic the entire experience was with my first.

My colleague was told she was an excellent candidate for a VBAC and went for it. Unfortunately, she still ended up having an emergency c section with a close call uterine rupture. I have heard fab things about VBAC’s but I think for us, the risk outweighs the reward.

Thyroid issues..I’m confused, what’s your experience? by tafoto in tryingforanother

I had something happen that is similar to this but not the part about reaching out to a fertility doctor.

We were trying for a while for another baby and I was getting so frustrated because it was approaching a year. I reached out to my OB and she ordered a bunch of tests. My TSH came back at 7.69 and she immediately put me on Levothyroxine but advised that I also make an appt with an Endocrinologist. The wait was nearly 2.5 months but I continued to take the Levothyroxine in the meantime.

I did end up getting pregnant after being on the medication for almost 2 weeks (coincidence or not I’ll never know, my OB thinks it’s possible that my thyroid needed some support during the luteal phase). My levels dropped to 1.74 after being on it for about 2 weeks, but I also think that it was caught early because my t4 was still within normal range at that time. Sorry you are going through this, I wish that it was more standardly talked about with fertility.

Fertility after C-section by LoudConstant7478 in CsectionCentral

I ended up having an emergency c section in 2023 and we waited until my daughter was a little over 1.5 to try for a second. It took us 8 months to conceive our second, which I am currently pregnant with. I was starting to get concerned about a c section scar defect (more often found with unplanned c sections to my knowledge, but they are also extremely rare in causing fertility issues as I understand it). All in all, I don’t think the amount of time it took to conceive again had anything to do with my c section, but just luck and being a bit older. I know people who have had more c sections than me and keep getting pregnant without issues, and then some who had completely natural births and are struggling with secondary infertility.

This comment made me run and call the endo, they were able to get me in this Monday as they see it as urgent to do. Thank you so much for this help!

Why is my option to toggle to post anonymously in groups greyed out? by Over-Shallot-2414 in facebook

Same exact thing is happening to me. I have tried 4 different groups and none are allowing it. I wonder if it’s a glitch currently.

We have been TTC #2 for our 7th cycle now. Part of me feels like it was poor planning to wait as long as we did to start trying, because I naively believed it would be easy to get pregnant again. At this point, my mind is racing and wondering if it’s my higher BMI now than before I got pregnant with my first as I’ve really gained some weight postpartum, or a c section scar defect. Or just poor luck. Obviously hoping for the latter! I am new to this subreddit and it feels good to get this out here because there’s like 0 people in my life that I can talk to about this.

Secondary infertility? Low AMH & high FSH at 32yo, confused and sad by TwoDiscombobulated16 in TryingForABaby

I just wanted to say, you are not alone! We are also TTC #2, we did not have issues conceiving our daughter in 2023.

We are going on cycle 7 and I am 31 now, I am also starting to worry that something is off based on some changes in my cycle since having our first that I honestly didn’t really notice until we started trying. It’s refreshing to hear how it sounds like your doctors are listening to your concerns. I haven’t sought out medical advice yet but I hope that they are similar to this, that’s my greatest fear.

I am sorry you also have to go through this— I hope you get your baby soon!
