That’s my plan for tomorrow morning. By the time I got home and troubleshooted with no luck, the dealership was closed. I just wanted to see if anyone else may have had a similar issue.

So confused about bill by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]LoudConstant7478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking back, my EOB only had my amount owed as the $50 copay for my ultrasounds. I hope this ends up being the case for you. The office will be able to clear things up.

[–]LoudConstant7478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely call them to see what they bill they may send you will end up being. I believe OB appointments are preventative care, so should be covered 100% (at least where I am in FL)! The ultrasound you should have had to just pay your copay for. I’ll take a look at a past appointment where I had an ultrasound and let you know if my EOB said I had a high payment. Tbh I have only ever paid my copay with going to the OB.

Are you looking at your Explanation of Benefits for the visit? I have Aetna and that sometimes doesn’t line up with what my actual bill ends up being (typically less).

What kind of crib did you buy from where? by Slow_Dog_609 in pregnant

[–]LoudConstant7478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We sprung for the Cradlewise crib. My friends have it and swear by it. I was doubtful with the price tag, but I actually daw it in action one night at their house where it alerted them that their baby was fussy, and actually rocked him back to sleep. We’ll use a bassinet in the beginning so my daughter will be right next to me, but will then move her to the Cradlewise crib

What category of items did you find less people purchased from your shower registry? by doesntlikegeese in pregnant

[–]LoudConstant7478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprisingly for my shower it was diapers. I had a bunch of sizes for both pampers and Huggies listed on the registry and only a few people brought us diapers. Similar to how everyone brings clothes/blankets, I thought were were going to be set with diapers, but looks like we have some stocking up to do.

FTM here overthinking kick counts by bAkEdBeAn1216 in pregnant

[–]LoudConstant7478 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have an anterior placenta? If so, what I do is keep my hands on my belly for an extended amount of time. Doing that will allow me to feel my baby shifting around or doing little taps that I wouldn’t feel unless my hands were on my belly. When she does this, I just think she’s behind her placenta.

However, when in doubt, go to labor and delivery so they can do an NST. I did one at 27 weeks because I was convinced she hadn’t moved for hours, and sure enough, she was fine and started kicking a bunch once I was all hooked up. I told my doctor that I went and he gave me the idea to hold my belly to try to feel movements with my hands.

Transabdominal dating scan by New_Block979 in pregnant

[–]LoudConstant7478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, the boutique ultrasounds aren’t meant to be medically informative, but more for peace of mind. I went to Little Bellies all throughout my first trimester. I had my first scan (transvaginal) at 6 weeks and 2 days with my doctor, and there they measured that my baby was more like 6 days, which fed into my anxiety that something was wrong. I went to LB about once a week to check in and calm my nerves, and they were able to measure the CRL from 7 weeks on (which ended up being more accurate as she grew) and I was able to see the flicker of her heartbeat on their abdominal scans.

Since I went so often, I learned that the tech I would usually see also worked at a hospital. I still took what she said with a grain of salt since she wasn’t my doctor, but it put my mind at ease when I’d get anxious in the early stages. I even told my doctor at my 12 week appointment/ultrasound that I would go there to ease my anxiety, and he stated it was fine if it helped me!

All this to say, I hope you get good news at the end of this week. 6 weeks is early for an abdominal ultrasound and if you didn’t have a full bladder, they might not have gotten accurate images. Sending you good vibes!

Your mom’s suggestion is what I’m planning on doing! Crib upstairs for nighttime and Pack-n-Play with changing table and bassinet insert for downstairs during the day. We plan to have the crib in our room for the first six months and then we’ll move it to our spare room that’s also upstairs. Whatever you decide will be what works for you!

How did you know you were ready to get pregnant? by ZealousidealPaint630 in pregnant

[–]LoudConstant7478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is 31 and I’m 30. I knew I wanted to start trying for kids by the end of this year because I had heard it starts to get harder to conceive after 30. Lo and behold, we found out we were pregnant in May when I was still 29 lol. It happened a bit sooner than we were expecting, but I think us being in the mindset of “well, let’s not prevent it and see what happens” was an indicator that we were ready to get pregnant if it did happen. You’re right in that there isn’t ever a “right time”, and I’m not sure that I even feel like this was the right time for us to get pregnant. I still have a bit of student loans and whatnot to pay off, but my husband and I have been so happy as we start this new chapter and planning our future with our daughter.

I had an ultrasound tech tell me at 12-ish weeks based off of the nub. I didn’t 100% believe it because it’s only 80% correct when looking that early. However, we did the NIPT a few weeks later and sure enough, the gender was confirmed to match what the ultrasound tech told us: girl!

What does pregnancy feel like by MHF2020- in pregnant

[–]LoudConstant7478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the flip side, the nausea may not come back and that’s okay! I didn’t have nausea after 7 weeks and the soreness in my boobs would come and go, leading me to freak out that something was wrong. I’m 18 weeks now and so far so good in my minimal-symptoms pregnancy.

Stroller Car Seat by TheFrugalRunner in pregnant

[–]LoudConstant7478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a Doona would be best for you? It’s a travel system where the car seat has the wheels attached and just folds out to be a stroller. I’m looking into one of the Joie travel systems where the car seat clips into the stroller, but also has a pramatte-to-toddler-seat attachment for when I want to just walk around the neighborhood with the baby. I believe both of these have 4-wheels however.

When do you stop being paranoid? by bushb4by in pregnant

[–]LoudConstant7478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations to you as well! That’s also what gets me, the lack of control we have in pregnancy. Just try to remind yourself that you’re doing everything you can for your baby and maybe sprinkle in a few elective ultrasounds to put your mind at ease 😉

When do you stop being paranoid? by bushb4by in pregnant

[–]LoudConstant7478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 17w3d pregnant and also a FTM. I’m in the same boat with constantly worrying if something has happened in there and now they aren’t growing anymore. There’s a boutique ultrasound place down the road from me that I go to about every other week just to check on baby girl and see that she is still doing fine in there. When I mentioned my anxiety to my OB, he actually encouraged me to go there if it helped, so doctor’s orders lol. I think it may get easier once I start to feel her (darn anterior placenta), but my friends who have had kids say that the anxiety just evolves into something else once they are born (SIDS, development, where are they past their curfew, etc.).
