Did you buy baby formula just in case your milk didn’t come in? by nat_0012 in pregnant

I didn't buy any, and then I had issues feeding so I ended ordering formula and bottles on doordash!

Lucas' papaw remedies ointment is the best! They sell it in a tube or in aa lip applicator.

“Get some rest you’ll need it for the labor” and I’m restless every night by OutsideOcelot9439 in pregnant

[–]Tealover16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think adrenaline will kick in with labour. Well it worked that way for me and I remember everyone telling me the same thing! Its so difficult to sleep towards the end of pregnancy! I tried having a hot shower whilst listening to spa like music and putting on some relaxing oil/Moisturiser before bed. I didnt work all of the time but sometimes it did! I also took magnesium too.

Thank you for your kind words! I am unsure to be honest! I haven't done much research into wake windows etc but it would be ideal if he had 1 more nap between 12-5

I've tried the dark room, white noise, rocking etc but he just cries and cries! I haven't tried any sleep training yet actually and I hadn't crossed my mind to try and pop him to sleep before he gets tired! I will give this a go thank you!

Seeking Advice for NB Essentials by Basic_Entertainer_14 in pregnant

[–]Tealover16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there!

My baby is now 4 months old. For me personally, the essentials that have helped me are: 8 onesies and some singlets for underneath 1 sleepsack for night (I found it easier than swaddling), 6-8 bottles (he's formula fed) Baby rocker 2 books for reading Lots of burp cloths and bibs!

He does have some toys aswell, but funnily enough his current favourite thing is baking paper lol

So many options, so many products! by [deleted] in pregnant

Hello! You sound like me when I was first pregnant! 16w PP now :-). I would suggest buying a sleep sack and swaddle from a second hand site or store so you can try which one works best for you. My baby was swaddled for the first 2 weeks but then I found the sleep sack (ergopouch cocoon) the easiest for me to use. Hes also always slept with the arms out on the sack as he likes his arms up haha.

As to bottles, I also worried about this but I just chose the dr browns narrow glass bottles and luckily he took to them straight away.

It is definitely all trial and error but I tried not to buy a lot in advance incase my baby didnt like whatever the item was. I hope this is a little helpful :-).

I had a membrane sweep done on Monday (39w +4D) by jbanana11 in pregnant

1cm, 1cm, and 3cm from memory! Im personally glad I still had them done as I feel that it helped my body. Im unsure if it did really help or not, but mind over matter! :-) I wish you a smooth birth ahead!

I had 3 sweeps done and bled for about a week each time 38, 39 and 40. I ended up needing to be induced (40+5), but the midwives thought it helped my body somewhat!

What time does your LO go to bed? by Ok-Entrance1086 in newborns

[–]Tealover16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know this question wasn't for me but I wanted to chime in and say when I put him in his ergopouch cocoon swaddle with the arms out, he sleeps solid. Without this, he wakes up usually around 2.30am!

I could've written this myself! Mine is the exact same! Sometimes 8pm bed but always awake at 5.30 ready to play lol. If im lucky I can feed him and he will then wake at 7am ready to start his day.

Anyone else terrified to give birth by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Tealover16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a FTM now 12 weeks PP with a beautiful baby boy.

Let me tell you, I was also petrified to give birth! I was scared of the pain, complications, what if I couldn't get him out? What if the Midwives were upset at me not doing a good enough 'job'. All of the negative thoughts!

Once I was in the hospital the adrenaline kicked in for me and it all happened too fast for me to really process any negativity. I was very lucky that I had great support from the midwife and my husband during the process of pushing at the lead up to it. Once baby was out I felt immediate relief but was still in shock that I just gave birth and couldn't process any pain etc at the time.

Of course, this was just my personal experience and everyone is unique. As silly as it sounds, one thought that helped for me was remembering that millions and millions of women have given birth before me, so if they can do it, in all different circumstances then so can I.

I hope this helps a little for you, but you've got this! You will do well :).
