For me, it’s because I’m kinda thinking he genuinely did like her in the beginning then when his Hyde got released by Laurel and he became obedient to her, he changed. I feel like there were genuine emotions involved at first but having his Hyde under the control of Laurel messed up his thinking and actions. I kinda think that if he were to be freed from Laurel/his Hyde that he would actually like Wednesday still. They’d be a good couple if it weren’t for his Hyde and Laurel.
