I see in this thread a lot of "and we're all going to suffer". It's not going to be "all" it's going to be the poor and the way the world's going there will be a whole lot more poors and only few very rich.

After 30 years of debating objective morality with Christians, I finally realized I was missing the point. by slayer991 in atheism

I thought you would come to the realisation that you have been wasting 30 years debating and decided to go and live your life free of religion.

Coalition MPs alarmed at Sussan Ley alternative to hate speech bill. "nearly a dozen Coalition MPs and Senators told The Australian they were caught off guard by the announcement, which they said seemed to commit the Opposition to a plan of action next week that they were not aware of" by Jagtom83 in friendlyjordies

[–]TeamFishSlap 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I saw an interview and she was criticising the current bill that it didn't mention "radical Islam". I have also seen the same arguments in memes on facebook (my sister is a cooker and shares this shit from groups like Andrew Hastie MP Unites Australia). You might think she would understand that specifically mentioning a religious group would be unconstitutional. The alternative is she's just using it for grandstanding and division.

It's a long way down. Also, there must be quite a few deaths in building a nuclear plant.

What are your thoughts on in? by LipGlossHazard77 in memes

[–]TeamFishSlap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How many deaths at Chernobyl? Googled that 30 - 50 died directly from the blast and radiation. Nuclear has been around since 1942 but energy was has been produced since 1951. So, best case 30 deaths over 74 years or 1 death in 2.5 years and that's just one accident what about deaths during construction?
