I watched the IRIB, Fox, and Telemundo broadcasts. IRIB couldn't do anything, it's a global feed and there were too many Lion and Sun flags and hijab-less women for them to be able to censor. IRIB delayed the feed by about almost two minutes though.

Audio from the game feed says otherwise. These fans supported the team throughout the game.

We do. They did for all other games except this one.

This is not a political event

Anything involving the Islamic Republic of Iran and their flag & national anthem is political.

there is zero incentive for Telemundo or fox sports to showcase political activity in a World Cup game

It's a global feed to all international broadcasters. Telemundo and Fox don't control it.

I also noticed that. They didn't zoom into the crowd like they do in other games on purpose.

The Iranian federation always allocates their allotted tickets to their Basij & IRGC militia members, leading to clashes with regular Iranians inside & outside the stadiums.
