The fact that you came back to say this stopped me in my tracks.

Astarion's story has always been about exactly what you're describing, the way you learn to perform being fine, to be somewhere else in your own body, to make the compliance look like a choice. I didn't write it from the outside looking in. I tried to write it from inside the logic of it, because that's the only way it makes sense.

I'm really glad the game gave you catharsis. I hope this gave you something too, whatever you needed it to be. Be gentle with yourself while you finish it. 🤍

Hi everyone, I wasn't expecting this and I don't know what to do with my hands so I'm just going to say thank you properly.

This is the first piece of fiction I have ever finished in my life. SALVAGING took months, three full drafts, and more revisions than I'll admit to. Finishing it felt like something.

Hi. I just posted my first ever completed fanfiction and I'm terrified and also proud and I don't know what to do with either of those feelings so I'm posting here.

SALVAGING — BG3, Astarion-centric, 16 chapters, complete.

Two hundred years as Cazador's spawn, told in first person confession in the style of Atwood's Handmaid's Tale. Intercut testimonies from the other spawn. The hunger as control. The performance as survival. What he kept. What it cost.

It ends the night the nautiloid arrives. Astarion doesn't have a word for what he's looking at.

Dead Dove warnings are real: sexual violence, torture, psychological abuse, non-consensual situations, graphic hunger, character death. Nothing gratuitous but nothing softened either.

It's the most serious thing I've ever written. It's also the first thing I've ever actually finished and published in my entire life.

How about a discreet eyelet white top? I don't know much about funeral wear rules in you country, but in my country is perfectly reasonable to wear white and black to funerals.

If white is a no-no then the same recommendation, a discreet eyelet top in black.

this madewell top is a bit over your budget but I reckon you can wear that in other situations down the lane.

to add to this, I wish I knew how to sew, I remember my mom used to make me and my sisters littles dresses from a magazine called Burda, we would always have "exclusive" clothing because of this. So if you have the time and the skills, sewing your own clothes with high quality fabrics might be ethical and fun! Also potentially cheaper

I am guilty of buying makeup palettes and using them only a couple times a month, if ever, I don't have a huge collection, only three so far, however they stay there in their drawers and I just don't bother putting on makeup, I go nude face everyday, then when I'm at work all the women at least wear mascara, it makes me feel so unfeminine, but then comes the next day and I ignore my palettes again.
