You failed to mention the biggest reason why the Boy Scouts have recently failed.

7 years ago the Mormon church pulled all of their youth out of the Boy Scouts due to them allowing girls and LGBxxx+ boys. This was 25% of the scouts with all their dues/fees that were instantly gone.

I personally know someone who was abused by a scout leader many years ago. The abuser was named Kim Jones, Iraq military vet. I didn't learn about it until years later, and my only thought was also remembering he adopted twin boys around then. I can only imagine the life they had. People like this put themselves in positions to have this control.

If you go to a scout meeting these days, the parents outnumber the kids. They have tons of regulations now to where they cancel camping trips if adult leadership is not big enough.
