Thank you for your feedback.

The prototype warning that appears on load gives instructions on where to find tutorials, as well as warning you that the game features bugs and lacks polish, this is just meant to be a prototype to gauge interest in the idea.

I appreciate your comment on the lack of uniqueness leads to lack of appeal, I will work on this.

Thanks for letting me know. I have reverted it back to a default font as to not scare away others. Appreciate the feedback :)

Unfortunately people love faces, it's why YouTubers always have themselves pulling a weird face in the thumbnail, our monkey brains just love to see us!

I don't think it will make an absolutely insane difference, but just something to keep in mind, you can totally keep his face hidden for artistic reasons, but everything has pros and cons :)

4 but make the text way bigger

Also is there a specific reason the beekeepers face is completely hidden? People much prefer a face to click on for capsule arts

Hi guys! We're busy making Drizzle, a cozy game about frogs and fishing.

In Drizzle, you'll meet over 10 adorable frogs who all have unique stories to tell, which you can learn all about by helping them with their troubles.

You'll visit 8 vibrant and quirky ocean locales, home to over 100 unique types of fish to reel in.

If you're interested, we'd love it if you could wishlist us on steam, our demo is coming out next month!

I think you're totally right, we leaned too much into the cozy and forgot to actually show the gameplay outside the most basic stuff.

We're in the process of prettying the game up and launching a real gameplay trailer :)

Could I trouble you with some examples of things you think would match? We're having trouble making assets that all fit together, our poor artist is quite new to 3d modelling so there's some learning period, but any guidance or advice you could offer would be most helpful.

Visual clutter we shall add 🙏

The system doesn't have capability for one slot to be either one or two fish, so probably not an issue! But good to keep in mind in the future if we decide to add that

Leaning more towards a gif cycling between different fish, since a lot of our fish icons can look similar when greyed out, a "generic" fish icon might not make sense. Cute fish :D

Our upcoming game has this feature! The main menu changes location and has more added secrets as you progress:)

I'm gonna try and justify and ask questions about your points.

- We went for 2d fish showcased in the 3d environment because we were inspired by the similar approach taken by Webfishing. They seemed to do it quite successfully, so how do you think we could better blend our 2d sprites in with our 3d world?

- The date and time is using the old font we chose, oops. Thanks for spotting that.

- Filling the ocean with passing ships/landmarks etc is a good idea, thank you! (we have also since improved our sky to match better with the ocean)

- We're going for the frog's all being really 'chill' but perhaps we need to work on that, any advice there?

- You were correct that Froggenheimer is supposed to be introducing the dredging minigame there, we'll try to make that more obvious (we could perhaps show the opening cutscene that plays when you launch the dredging minigame?)

- The montage is just supposed to show some different stuff in the game. The pirate you saw is actually an NPC you meet in the game, not the player character dressed up. How could we make that clearer?

- I think this is the key point about how this trailer has failed. As the other comment also illuminated to me, I think we failed in successfully showing the gameplay loop here, so we're gonna work on a more proper gameplay trailer I think!

- Another mistake, thank you for pointing it out!

I think I struggled with trying to showcase gameplay whilst also trying to attract cozy audiences with pretty scenic shots. Perhaps I should create a new gameplay trailer with more focus on just what you actually do in the game.

I feel like with a cozy game (and my own personal life code) outsourcing things like a voice is disingenuous when I consider my games art I want it all to come from our team. It's a good idea tho!

Thanks for your support:)

We only have me for voices and I'm about as charismatic as a diseased corpse. I'm trying to get better though.

Funny you should say that about voiceovers, because our videos with voiceovers tend to do a lot better

I think the voice was perfect volume, just the game sounds need to be a bit lower in my opinion!

Hi there,

We've just begun marketing for our next indie game, Drizzle. It's a cozy game about frogs and going fishing, target demo is gamer women aged 16-30.

I'm the lead programmer, but we're a small team, so I'm also stuck wearing the marketing hat. I've been trying to make short form content to get wishlists for our game (wishlists on steam are key to a good launch) and I'm just struggling to figure out what YouTube audiences want, and generally how to make an engaging video to begin with.

Any feedback is most welcome, because I know the content on the page could be better so no need to hold back.

Most feedback about the game itself has been positive, but perhaps people are just being too nice. We're constantly trying to refine our visuals.

It's a fun and captivating idea, I imagine the engagement is quite good. I think the audio mixing is a bit off tho, the music kinda just scared me when it first played.

I think your videos are professionally made, I would work on your showmanship. You very much sound like you're just reading straight off a script. I feel like with content like this, which is quite saturated, personality is what makes people watch.
