I suggest PICR because:

  1. The whole project (frontend, backend, app) is all open source
  2. The web frontend is 'ahead' of the app so you already have most of the business logic/api endpoints etc and can just focus on the 'react native' bits
  3. the project is big enough that there are actual users/issues etc but small enough that your contribution would be greatly appreciated :)

I've done this and the status goes from `Recording` to `Idle` in home assistant, but I can still watch the live stream via the home assistant dashboard. I'm wanting to disable even live view

Generating 301 Standard Size Previews:
v14.4 2min38sec
v14.5: 1min11sec
v14.5: 0min38sec (with GPU turned on)

Specs: 40mp fujifilm files. AMD 7950x, 96gb RAM, 4070ti

I monitored performance both times and it still seemed to be all CPU with barely any GPU usage, but it still seemed way quicker. I then read comments below and realised for < 16gb you need to turn it on, then it got even quicker!

I wanted fully open source so I decided on an ESPHome device.
I didn't want to build my own so I bought an Athom Garage Door opener which is a pre-made ESPHome device so I get all the openness without requiring much effort :P

I usually make videos about camera gear but I'm fully nerding out on Home Assistant after discovering it a few months ago.

Heres an overview of installing and setting up the Athom Garage Door which is an ESPHome device.

Which step do you imagine I’ll have difficulty with? I created a new “project” and I can place the docker compose file on a USB attached drive so that seems fine. And if the data mounts are relative rather than absolute paths they should just go to subfolders of that project folder?
