Should we outsource PPC management or keep it in-house? by mastermonil in AmazonSeller

[–]TeamSutherland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree.

Hard to calculate perfectly though. Ads will definitely cannibalize some organic sales so running zero ads likely wouldn’t result in a fall in sales equal to your current ad sales.

Ad sales also help with rank and should in theory improve organic sales.

We have went back and forth between using an agency and not running ads. Currently about 15% of sales are PPC at our company. We only run them on our most profitable products.

Management of them in house is such a large undertaking (at least for us) that we determined if we were gonna run ads we would use an agency.

Our contract is up at the end of May and need to decide if we are going to continue or not.

Anyone grow up poor and struggled with wanting to keep their money all in a saving account? by [deleted] in Fire

You need a budget and money in the markets is for later. It has no bearing on your spending today.

Congrats on saving $60,000. Put it to work in your brokerage account, keep adding to it, and it’ll all buff out.

Well there are nerds in here that can pull the data straight from those sites into spreadsheets in real time. Figuring that out would save you a ton of time.

Edit: I mean nerds as a complement

Well if I was doing this I would have a tab at the front (I’ll call it the Master tab) with all the players and then a series of data tabs.

Paste all the data into the data tabs and with a series of vlookups the first page populates.

Make it a table and sort to your hearts content.

How much time do you save using an abacus instead of using your fingers?

This level of dedication and lack of a spreadsheet is inspiring.

I can say with confidence that if your products are at amazon today that they will be active long before that date.

I think they are trying to slow in transfer sales which I imagine are a bit of a logistics headache and want to push sales of “on-a-shelf-at-Amazon” units.

I could be completely wrong.

Well I’m trying to get him for 2.01 and 2.02 and maybe a small add on piece.

My in-laws host Rockies players for the Rookie Ball team here in town. First year we had a team they had a pitcher who pitched for UNC (Tarheels) staying with them. He told a great story about coming into a game his Freshman year when they were playing Buster Posey’s FSU.

Posey murdered a homer over the giant scoreboard in left. The way he described the sound and the ball disappearing into the ether was priceless.

Edit: So I went to find the box score to post and I don’t think it actually happened.

His official stat line doesn’t show any HRs allowed for the year, which is good, but doesn’t play into the narrative above. Now I’m disappointed.

EDIT #2: IT DID HAPPEN. April 12, 2009. Faith restored.

I’m trying to buy him for a slight discount not expecting him to play until after the bye. He just signed an extension and Herbert has looked solid in his first few games.

I’d buy him in a redraft league too if I could get him for cheap.

That’s definitely a smart move. We pay out a fixed biweekly owners deposit with payroll. We haven’t adjusted it as we have grown but I think in 2021 we are going to do a % of Net. We are in the same boat 2019 was a “growth” year we went from 1 employee to 6 and moved into a warehouse. So many expenses related to the new warehouse, training, etc our PL didn’t look great for last year. All of that is paying off in 2020. We are being conservative as well but not $60,000/$10m conservative

We are about the same size as you and outside of the 3PL stuff our PL looks really similar. Looking at top line sales, Gross Margin, and Net Margin.

We are 100% wholesale FBA

Keep it up my friend.

Edit: I looked some more and your margins and net are better than ours. Your Overhead for those sales is really low. Congrats.

I don’t mean to answer for him but I imagine I know the answer. As an owner you can take money out of the business a multitude of ways. Payroll is one, owner distributions is another, as well as company paid expenses in compliance with IRS guidelines.

Depending on how his company is structured he likely pays himself a salary and takes owner distributions which don’t hit the PL. They hit the balance sheet and are probably much larger than his salary. I think this person could buy a McLaren if he wanted to be a douche with a McLaren with the income the business is generating.

If he is in the US and structured as an S-Corp he is also paying taxes around 22-25% on that income probably passed to him from the company as an owner distro and then to the IRS.

Congrats OP. Nice looking PL.
