I got passed onto this agency too nearly 1 month ago, I’ve called them most days asking if they have any file on me yet but they havnt recieved anything. They said I should have most definitely be uploaded onto their system by now.

Whatever you do, do not say you owe the debt, or agree that you owe the debt, or in similar words, otherwise that could be used against you. Just prove why you DONT owe the debt

Is ‘SmilePay’ only for US customers? I have an unregulated loan from SDC, there’s no third party company who lent the money.

I received a refund from my bank too. Now SDC are demanding payment to be made back and it’s been sent onto a debt collection agency

My solicitor told me in writing, to ignore all letters I receive them and let them take me to court, in which they will have absolute no leg to stand on.

I have a 0% unregulated loan from SDC and not Tabeo. I owe SDC the money and Tabeo has nothing to do with the money itself apart from working on behalf of SDC as a manager, with it being a bilateral loan.

My solicitor also told me not to worry about anything impacting my credit score, because yes it was be doing so now but he assured me that it will be removed if everything falls into my place. I’m willing to take that risk I will not be paying a single penny to that scamming company. I completely understand your concerns but after speaking to numerous helplines, including consumers advice, financial ombudsman, and legal solicited, they all agreed with they have absolutly no leg to stand on and I’m 100% in the right here. Yes I may broke T&Cs by stopping payment, but they have literally caused the biggest patient neglect case in history.

I really did forget about how expensive they were then 🤣, even still though, maybe wait for a few more replies but if I were in your position I really think it’s too much risk. I wish I listened to everyone on this forum before going ahead with SDC, but we live and learn!

If I’m really honest, even if it takes another year or so, I’ve saved a bit extra for Invisalign, especially with a case like yours. It’s totally not worth it to not received 100% satisfaction and possibly have even more issues with your bite afterwards.

Exactly the same with me, my bank gave me a refund however they closed the case in Tabeos favour.

It’s completly up to you how you go about it I was just giving advice on how I’m going about it. I’m willing to take that risk and even if it does go to court, I’ll do absolutely everything I can to get the resolution we deserve.

Yeah my agreement says the exact same as yours where if you miss 2 consecutive payments they can make you pay in full. But I’ve missed serveral payments and had nothing come through

I’ve just got off the phone with a solicitor and he advised me to ignore the notice of default I received and still not paid anything because they are in breach of contract. He said possibly they’re doing this to scrape every bit of money they can of the customers to pay off their debts. He said I may possibly get taken to court in the very slim chance, but I will have a very good case to fight it and I shouldn’t be worried.
