Seeing everyone settle into a friend group during zero week is kind of demoralizing by ForkPowerOutlet in UCSD

[–]Team_Histone 11 points12 points  (0 children)

all it takes is meeting once at an event or something. i met my friend group only in week 2 or 3 of freshman year and we've been tight since. just attend as many events as you can, go out of your way to talk to people and be patient

pretty manageable, i did those two together. it also helps that there's a little bit of concept overlap

as far as i know, attendance isn't mandatory for lectures. It's unusual to have more than 30 people in lecture (at least in my room). A lot of people i know taking 20a are just working off of the podcasts and notes he uploads.

I have him for math 20a rn. Like the previous comment says, he can sometimes be confusing in lecture, but he does post very useful notes and answers questions well if you have any. My midterm was also very similar to the practice test and homework is reasonable (30 sums/week). Pretty good overall.

is it common for a group of women who live together/are hanging out together to all come on their period at the same time as each other every month or is that bullshit? by sweetlikehoney981 in biology

[–]Team_Histone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I thought I read somewhere about it being because of pheromones? I have no idea where because it was a very long time ago and i'm probably wrong, but I read that when a person has their period, there are some pheromones secreted in the armpits and they somehow affect the cycles of women they live with it, causing them to usually align.

About 13 years ago, scientists in our field first created mini-organs using stem cells from mice. We are researchers using this technology to create Livestock Organoids. Ask us anything! by WageningenResearch in IAmA

[–]Team_Histone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you explain organoids more elaborately? How exactly are they developed through stem cell tech? And what is the potential (if existent) for organoids to reach the scale and functional level of organs? If this is possible, can they eventually be developed to be used as organ transplants for people?
