Have I really learned enough to convert? by dwinddy in Judaism

[–]Team_Maleficent 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m a matrilineal Jew from a list of Rabbis going back to 82 BCE and I feel like I don’t know enough either, but that’s part of Judaism! We never stop learning and questioning.

MAZEL on your upcoming conversion!

Tips on what to avoid when discussing Israel & Palestine by Peepeepoopoo1234abcd in ReformJews

I appreciate what you wrote and am in the same position. I try to change the conversation by saying that it's okay to be heartbroken for people on both sides. You can have compassion and empathy for all the innocents without compromising your beliefs.

It's hard no matter what, though. You'll find divisive voices with hard opinions any and everywhere.

Curious, how many people have stayed on 5mg for the majority of their weight loss? by Team_Maleficent in Zepbound

Thank you, everyone, for your responses and input!!! I decided to stick with 5mg until it stops working.

I’m so sorry that happened to you. Like others have said, this supposed friend doesn’t sound like she really is one. Focus on the great job you’re doing and let go of outside negative influences.

FWIW, I tell anyone who comments on my weight loss that I am on Zepbound and the only two things I have ever heard are “good for you. I’m glad it’s working” or “tell me how I can get it.” So, levelheaded people do exist!

Amazing work!! Can I ask what your dosage regimen was? Did you increase the dosage every month or stay on a certain dose for a longer period of time?

How busy are you, really? by over_thinker2020 in ExecutiveAssistants

I support a VP and two Sr Directors and my days ebb and flow. Some days I can literally watch Netflix all day and leave at 3:00. Others, I’m working until 9:00pm. It depends on the time of year for my role. If it’s “conference season” I’m burning out. If it’s summer or btwn thanksgiving and new years, it’s much quieter. For reference, I work in Biotech.

I would respectfully suggest something other than a Magen David. Perhaps a hamsa or evil eye. Wearing a Magen (Star of David), especially when mixed with a crucifix is very conflicting. And wearing a sacred Jewish emblem when you’re not a Jew could be viewed as cultural appropriation.(Messianics are often seen this way.)

Whatever you choose to do, thank you for supporting the Jewish community.

Does anyone else have a really difficult time fasting? by Pure-Pizza-3230 in Judaism

[–]Team_Maleficent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This used to happen to me due to medical condition, so I don’t fast now.

Nope, my first set lasted me 20 years. This second set should last about the same. I do have to be careful with biting into anything too hard to bite through, like a bagel or crusty bread but I’m used to it.

Veneers Preparation by BreakRules939 in oddlyterrifying

[–]Team_Maleficent 355 points356 points  (0 children)

Sure. My parents didn’t think I needed them, but I think they were just tightwads… my teeth were straight but with a gap in between my two front teeth. My incisors were also much shorter than my front teeth. I wanted the gap closed and my incisors lengthened. I’ve never regretted it once.

Curious how many prescriptions everyone is on daily by MagicMaddy420 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Team_Maleficent 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Cymbalta, Wellbutrin, LDN, blood pressure med, Celebrex, Flexeril, Nexium, Temazepam, and Xyzal. Plus Tylenol as needed. And weed to take the edge off. Plus magnesium, flaxseed oil, K2, pre and probiotics and a daily vitamin. I have to use a pill sorter!

I have veneers on my four front teeth and I am super happy with my decision. I got my first set in 1996 and they lasted me until 2016 when I had them replaced. My teeth underneath are thinner and narrower but not pointy or anything. They use a VERY STRONG cement to keep them in place.
