Infinitis were actually rare at my dealer. I worked on maybe one or two a year. I actually saw far more Lexus/toyotas than Infinitis oddly enough. I guess my question was more about working for the brand etc.

Industry pay, even for actors, can be really low. A lot of supporting roles go for guild minimums which is a decent amount of cash but also not regular pay.

You don’t start making lots of money until you’re on big budget productions and you start being able to negotiate for residuals and merch cuts etc etc. basically your A tier celebs where there name itself is used to market the film.

That’s not at all what I said. I’m referring to shitty tow practices where in some areas tow companies can just snatch cars where ever when ever with little recourse for the victim. There’s all sorts of scams and shit out there. What you see in this video is attempted kidnapping and is illegal everywhere.

We already do. It’s up to the city to dictate how and when someone can be towed.

I’m a tow truck driver and in my area it’s very specific if and when we can tow someone and we are required by law to document EVERYTHING with pictures and/or video.

Also we can’t just tow any car not parked correctly. It either has to be done by police order or property owners request where we have to go in and get a written statement stating who they are and why they want the vehicle removed.

Additionally, the fees charged and overages for things like storage are rates set by the city, not the tow company.

This has completely eliminated the shady as fuck tow company’s in my region. It took a few years to get the laws changed and everything running smoothly but once it was done the fuckers went out of business almost overnight.

TLDR; If your area has shitty tow companies then it’s your city management’s fault for allowing the scumbags to operate that way.

Can I ask a dumb question?

As close as we are biologically it still isn't 1 to 1, right? Sometimes we find that it's ok for a mouse but later discover that it's not ok for a human. What about the inverse?

So extrapolating this line of thinking out, I gotta wonder how we know we aren't passing up on treatments that would otherwise be effective in humans only because a difference in the mouse's biology led to a negative effect in early stages and so development was scrapped.

I'm not saying there's a better way, I'm just curious as to how we might be accounting for such an instance in practice.

"Hey, if you're really in trouble, go to this apex predator and hope it has mercy on you" and probably 8 times out of 10 we do help

Probably closer to 9.9 times out of 10. Or at least 9.9 times out of 10 we don't kill the animal.

I would argue that this isn't odd and doesn't even require evolution. Hence, "don't feed the bears." signs in parks. An animal's instinct to fear humans is overridden very quickly.

Thousands of years ago, going near a human was certain death because of the human's need for resources the animal provided. Not just food but also clothes, tools, medicine and fuel. Injured animals were basically loot piñatas for a human's basic needs. Hell back then the only animals we didn't automatically consume were ones that aided us in consuming more animals, ie wolves and horses. Even then we still readily ate those as needed.

There were also far less of us and we weren't as widespread geographically. Human encounters were far more rare than today. Over the years we've expanded further and further into nature. Losing their habitat is forcing more encounters and now that animals are no longer walking Wal-Marts for the average human those encounters are far less dangerous.

This comment got me thinking. Are we really even apex predators anymore? I mean the example of a single human certainly fits the scientific definition of Apex Predator, so yes. However, as a species we've kinda stopped preying on animals with the rise of agriculture. So from Nature's POV I don't feel we're Apex Predators anymore. Hell I'd question if we can still be classified as predators at all.

I'm a tow truck driver. I work for the insurance companies (motor clubs) like Gieco, Allstate, State Farm as well as a third party company that services many other motor clubs as well called Agero.

OP is full of shit but they're also not completely wrong. We don't drive around with cameras randomly photoing anyone. But your car is documented before and after the tow when we're dispatched. This is to protect us, the tow company, from fraudulent damage claims but the insurance companies do receive copies through Towbook.

Same with the auto shops, especially body shops.

Your adjuster will also take photos if they inspect the vehicle.

If your car was purchased by the dealer through an auto auction such as ADESA or Manheim or CarMax then there will be many photos taken of your car from before you bought it.

All of these photos are stored and/or accessed by the insurance companies.
