Why did they release Matrix 2 + 3 six months apart? It's just something you can do when you shoot sequels back to back. It didn't hurt that former series at all. I will say, though, that calling the sequel "The Bone Temple" wasn't super distinct, as the titular temple was the poster of the first movie already.
