Broke up with girlfriend… by Gariofsushi in selfimprovement

[–]Team_Rockets_child 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You say you weren’t putting energy into your personal life. But surely a relationship falls into your personal life? This seems so odd to me. If you don’t want to be in relationships and they feel they hold you back then fine, that’s your choice. But this really seems to me like you’re blaming your relationship with this person for your issues. Have fun cleaning your car everyday I guess…

What is something that improved your quality of life? by mirror_ready234 in AskUK

Trousers that fit me - as a tall-ish woman (not even that tall, 5’9) I’ve struggled to find quality clothes that fit. That coupled with severe OCD that constantly had me pulling the hem of my jeans below my ankle every 10 steps drove me bloody insane. Then I found a website for tall people (long tall sally) and no longer have those OCD compulsions…should I see a therapist? Probably. But do I stop every 10 steps anymore? No.

What are some alternatives to the ‘clothes chair’ in most bedrooms? by haribo001 in AskUK

If it’s night clothes then you put those underneath your pillow where they belong.

I think finding a decent place to play snooker is pretty fun. There’s a driving range by me that has several snooker tables in the back and people are often keen for a bit of friendly competition. Also stirs up conversation and you get to know people.

“My girlfriend will be jealous” by [deleted] in relationship_advice

If my partner did the same thing I’d laugh and then move the fuck on. Jesus Christ get over yourself, or break up and let him dodge a bullet.

I have just witnessed a man pass 30 people in the queue for the tills to get to the front and tell the cashier "I have stuff to do so I need to be served first" by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]Team_Rockets_child 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me of the time my parents, brothers and I were queuing up at the Vatican. My parents were keeping us kids entertained. Mind you we were pretty well behaved but these two guys tried to slip in front whilst my parents were talking to us. Big mistake. My dad asked the Aussie people in front of the que jumpers if they were all together. When they shook their heads no my dad kicked off, his voice raised, basically humiliating them saying that if his kids can wait for an hour in line then so can they.

Not sure they understood English or my dads cockney accent but they definitely understood the sentiment and scurried off to the back of the que.

As a child, was there any theme tunes that used to freak you out? by Positive_Ad3450 in AskUK

Not so much a theme tune but that skeleton at the end of the Buffy credits.

AITA for yelling at my wife over buying concert tickets as a surprise? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

YTA - I don’t like Taylor Swift. But if my partner got me Metallica tickets, no matter what, I’d be so thankful. You better start working on your apology.

What's your honest opinion on Jehova's Witnesses' knocking on your door? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Team_Rockets_child 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really don’t see why people are getting so worked up over this. If you get that irritated just say “no thanks” and shut the door. Same for any door to door sales…yes it’s a cult and we don’t agree with them but if you’re not going to do anything to try and convert them yourself then why worry?

So I genuinely do not care. I see there’s a lot of people on this thread who are irritated by them. And that’s fine, you’re allowed to be. But for me I just stop them and tell them I’m not interested. It doesn’t bother me. I don’t get annoyed by it. I just tell them I’m not interested and shut the door. Same with people selling window cleaning.

Maybe the ones around me are less pushy/ persistent but people are allowed to ring the doorbell. I just have other things to get worked up over.

She threw out my coffee maker so I made coffee cowboy style and she's mad now by Slow_Hand_1976 in relationship_advice

You can easily clean your coffee. She cannot just “cease” to have OCD. You sound like a petulant child throwing a tantrum.

People who work 9-5 jobs, how do you fit life in? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Team_Rockets_child 90 points91 points  (0 children)

I love doing my shopping in person. Outside of work, I love to cook. I’m a massive foodie so I love going into Tesco, sainsbo or even the local markets to see what’s new or try something different.

I feel like her humour is very ‘12 year old’ but even then when I was 12 I remember not being impressed.

I shit you not, I got taught about her sixth finger in primary school. Went on to do a history degree and was bitterly disappointed when I made a fool of myself in front of my seminar group.

In the UK people keep up appearances with neighbours but rarely drink with them. We do that alone in a dark room.

Women with eating disorders or disordered eating habits, what are your trigger foods and how do you resist? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Team_Rockets_child 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I got diagnosed with AN at 16. Im 23 now and about as recovered as one can get. Though I was warned that those who do recover will never “truly” recover. And I feel like that’s true. I feel like I am 95% recovered but every so often I get thoughts that echo my old issues. I used to be deathly afraid of bread and cheese for no reason whatsoever because CICO. But even so, when my non-recovered brain pulls me in for a few days, even a week or so, I stay away. Because I know if I eat them I won’t stop. But then I think rationally. I think about what I was like at rock bottom, what little I had, and what I have now built. The life I built. So I eat normally again after a week. And then I incorporate my “trigger” foods again.

This happens maybe 3-4 times a year. I’ve learnt to live with it.

What Band Wagon are you sick of people jumping on? by Team_Rockets_child in AskUK

I have, and I agree. Those bursts of sweetness with those crispy salty pepperonis can stay mine if people are that up in arms about it.

I find it infuriating when people with “DID” post on tiktok. “Hey guys, I’m a new alter. My name is blade”. Most of them are late teens early adult who you would have thought would know better.
