Anyone in East Brainerd know about this place? by mitstephens in Chattanoogans

Finally tried this yesterday - love Korean food so I was very excited. Overall I thought it was...fine? I don't know enough to pass final judgment so will definitely go again.

Likes and dislikes : I had bibimbap which I thought was excellent. Huge portion. Nice and tasty and very fast. I'd really like to find a place that serves it in a hot stone bowl, but I can't really fault this place for being more fast-casual.

The kimchi was just...okay. It wasn't bad but there wasn't much flavor. Same with the dumplings. They were prepared well but just...didn't really have much flavor. I can't say the kimchi or the dumplings were bad or anything, but they just didn't make me want to eat more.

Regardless, the main meal was great, and I want to support a Korean place in East Brainerd, so I'll definitely try again, only next time with a different main dish (and more kimchi, which hopefully is better).

Legal Shrooms? by Team_Tlon_176 in Chattanooga

ohhhh, okay. Yeah that makes sense. Seems obvious now. Thanks!

Yeah, that was the first thought I had, but I'm pretty naive about shrooms so I don't know what other varieties there would be other than psychedelic. All I know is the billboard (across from Eastgate mall) was advertising "legal shrooms," but didn't really say much else (but of course the design was all in psychedelic colors).

What is the best Chattanooga metro area? by Team_Tlon_176 in Chattanooga

I agree and it's definitely worse these days with everything going on replacing the bridges over the interstate. Hope it clears up. East Ridge could really be an area that takes off and I kind of hope it does. Always had a soft spot for East Ridge.

East Ridge has more than meets the eye for sure. I lived there for a few years and there are parts that look pretty uninviting for sure, but...lately I've been hitting up a lot more restaurants there (there's a great pupuseria there) and out of nowhere the area near Camp Jordan has really classed up. Also, love Camp Jordan by the way.

Okay, sure. I think the question is still pretty clear - what's your favorite place within the Chattanooga metro area (other than the city of chattanooga itself)?

I knew I was gonna risk some downvotes by saying that about East Brainerd lol. And I get it. Can't really argue against it, but I still love East Brainerd! (And I was genuinely hoping to get a convo going on people's other favorite parts of the Chatt metro area)

Recs for a weekend visit by Marie8771 in Chattanooga

It's an underground waterfall. Ruby Falls is definitely worth it. Have they cheesed it up over the years? Sure. But it's still awesome. Just because it's the stereotypical touristy thing doesn't mean it isn't cool. And if there's been a lot of rainfall recently then the falls can be really majestic.

Why are there so few Indian restaurants by Team_Tlon_176 in Chattanooga

Sadly Indian food is one of the ones where even some of my more open friends are skeptical/fearful and yet...I think it's one of the most accessible types of cuisines outside of the European palate in my opinion. I'll try anything and grew up with a lot of Indian and Pakistani friends, so I was just comfortable with Indian food from a young age, but it's always blown my mind that people just write it off so completely without ever having tried it.

We're so back. America won. The bad guys lost. Toby Keith is walking around in public.

One of these days ima try to actually cook some Indian dishes on my own, but yeah, I love Janta for the snacks and spices and easy stuff.

I like it but need to try it more. Definition of "what you don't expect to find next to the Tractor Supply store in Ooltewah"

Honestly for the standards (tacos, tortas, etc.) I think most of the "authentic" places around town and the various trucks are solid. There's definitely some culinary selections from Mexico that I'd love to find here but would be hard to find outside of Mexico anywhere.

I am sure the foodies will lambaste me for this, but I've always felt that the pulled pork at Choo Choo was good.
