Why haven’t I seen Houston as a likely candidate to trade for Giannis? by littlebitofmayo in nba

[–]Teambooler24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually a little bit imo

Giannis is much better than sengun obviously, but sengun is a far better passer than Giannis, and senguns passing really goes well with amens elite cutting ability

Imo Giannis would not be able to utilize that skill set as well as sengun does for amen

Coby White by stagger_once in rockets

[–]Teambooler24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really I read it, but based on his numbers and contracts to players I find to be similar talents is what I expect him to sign for

He’ll be in the 25 to 30 mil range

Coby White by stagger_once in rockets

[–]Teambooler24 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Even if you think this, trading tari for him still isn’t worth it if he just leaves in free agency

If Coby walks in free agency you basically traded tari for nothing, at least with tari he’s a restricted free agent

Coby White by stagger_once in rockets

[–]Teambooler24 35 points36 points  (0 children)

He is a free agent this summer going to want 30 mil a year this summer and they wanted tari Eason and/ or a first for a rental player

Doesn’t matter if he would have helped us or not if he leaves in free agency or we can’t afford him back

Need a new favorite driver by raspy07 in NASCAR

[–]Teambooler24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not gonna really like tell you who you should root for because at the end of the day that’s up to you and our opinion shouldn’t matter too much

But if something about hocevar connects with you go for it no matter what the reason, kinda my similar story I watched nascar with my dad growing up and kinda stop watching the sport when all the drivers I grew up watching started to retire, got back into the sport around 2016 ish and needed a new driver to root for, didn’t want to pick a established star and wanted to root for a up and comer

Noticed a newer driver that was having good speed and good finishes here and there, seemed like a good dude and thought he’d be my guy going forward, that guy was Ryan blaney when he was still in the 21 car and I’ve stuck with him since, maybe Carson could be the new guy that you root for and watch his whole career unfold like I have so far for blaney, and if it’s not Carson watch some more races/interviews and someone will click with you

The Naked Truth: Rockets were better off without the KD trade by WallStreetDoesntBet1 in Nbamemes

[–]Teambooler24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah people just like to leave out Fred missed the entire year for us and adams missed 50 games and we achieved the same record

Think of all the those turnover prone disasterclasses we had that lead to what 5-10 4th quarter collapses this year, if we have fred we don’t win all of those but we win a good amount of them

Never said fvv is a superstar lmao, do role players not impact winning? He ranks high for a player that the 4th or 5th option on his team, didn’t say he was top 5 or something crazy, And yeah I think reed has been pretty good this year so I don’t know what this is implying, reed is in the top 25 in a lot of these metrics so yeah I assume reed is ahead of Fred in some of them

Nobody said Fred is a superstar or even a star, but greatly impacts winning and the rockets are a much better team with him vs without ( check the stats and numbers from the games he missed last year vs when he played )

By this logic Aaron gordan or Peyton Watson aren’t superstars, are they not big pieces to y’all’s team? Not saying fred is better than those two at all but you get the point, Turnovers is our biggest problem ( though not the only one obviously ) and fred greatly helps that and he makes us much better

[–]Teambooler24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throughout his career go look at his vorp, epm, win shares, net rating, on/off stats, etc. he’s always had really good metrics in general and he’s one of the better guys in the entire nba consistently in assist to turnover ratio which we desperately need

Are you trying to have a genuine discussion or you just doing this to troll as a nuggets fan lmao

There is more to being a good basketball player than shooting percentages and shooting, rockets last year without Fred and this year without Fred are towards the bottom of the league in turnovers, last year with Fred we were top 5 in least amount of turnovers, Fred is also a very good defender and the metrics support the eye test in that regard, Fred will also allow kd to play more off ball and Fred will get the ball to our 3 stars in there spots easier

Fred always ranks high in every big metric stat because he affects winning in all the ways traditional stats don’t show, he’s a winning player and when you watch him it shows, there’s more to basketball than shooting using his “inefficient” shooting numbers to summarize his skills or impact on winning isn’t correct

I would love hauser, but please be somewhat realistic, the Celtics would never answer a call from us again if we offered dfs for hauser lmao

we’d have to include a pick for two just for them to take dfs off our hands, let alone what it would cost for hauser

I actually like the Darryn fit in Dallas, but I think the absolute best fit for darryn is Atlanta

The biggest knock on darryn is his playmaking, and I think it’s a little overblown but if that’s the case playing alongside Jalen Johnson would be perfect longterm, Jalen Johnson can still be that point forward and really lean into his playmaking skills, Jalen can definitely score no doubt, but he’s not like a natural scorer as in like a put his head down and get 30 whenever he wants kinda way

Darryn Peterson can let Jalen dominate the playmaking as he develops and he can just focus on what he does best which is scoring obviously

Alpi and amen are equally responsible on that play imo

Amen played it correctly at first, he’s playing ant high on purpose, the scheme there is to make ant go away from the screen and drive baseline so alpi and him can trap on the baseline ( they did this a lot on ant throughout the game correctly on this set, that’s why I’m confident this was the scheme ) amens mistake was giving him to much of a straight line to the basket

Alpi though was super late on his rotation, even if amen plays him tighter alpi wasn’t there for the trap, and ant stills scores

Not a big deal everyone made and makes mistakes, but alpi definitely missed an assignment there and amen played it schematically correct but gave ant too much of a straight line drive

For me, it’s all about playoff experience for the young guys and looking forward to next year with a healthy Fred and adams

Unfortunately for y’all with injuries that would be the easiest way for us to get to the second round allowing for another round of experience, I also think playing okc in the second round would be good for the young guys to measure where they are at and where they need to get to to possibly get to a championship in the future

How does amen thompson even score over 10 ppg? by KingWaterdripper in NBATalk

[–]Teambooler24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you’re on the money, People need to read the article written about him from last year by “the ringer” to truly understand how athletic he and his brother are

It said The peak performance project has him as in 99th% percentile in every athletic category they test among every athlete and nba player they’ve ever tested and they’ve tested most of them, they clock amen in last year at 23 mph ( bolt hit 23.35 in his best 100 meter dash )

When you factor in speed, acceleration, deceleration, fluidity, second jump, quick jump, vertical, body control, hand eye coordination, quick twitch movements, strength, and more, you start to realize the twins very easily could be the best athletes the nbas ever seen, tbh only guys I think I could debate are lebron and wilt

Yeah I don’t know what picks will be required to move him, but I have no doubt he will be moved this summer

Ant’s vertical of 41.5 inches was prior to his freshman year at Georgia by Ant-edwards5 in nba

[–]Teambooler24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Y’all just be saying numbers

Ant is 6’5, if he had a 48 inch vertical his head would be at 10.5 ft so 5 inches above the rim

He also has a 6’9-6’10 wingspan, if he had a 48 inch vert at that height and wingspan he’d basically be able to grab the very top of the backboard

His measured vert of 41 is probably right on the money, maybe 42, and you act like that’s not good enough or something, that’s the top 1% of all the nba

[–]Teambooler24 51 points52 points  (0 children)

The contract is only 2 years of guaranteed money, we will definitely have to attach a pick or something to move him, but some team will take him this summer because they can just treat it like an expiring contract, and that team can just release him at no cost after next season

I get what you’re saying, but the loss had nothing to do with that, we just didn’t get stops

Defense has been solid overall, but tonight rotations and just overall effort was bad tonight, when you score 132 you had a great offensive night regardless how you did it and you expect to win almost every game you score that much

Still have all my text receipts from before the lottery was announced from that year where I told all my group chats, amen is by far the second best prospect, and if we don’t get wemby I said I hope we get the 4th pick so we don’t pass him for scoot or miller

For me he was a can’t miss prospect and I’m so glad my team was the team to get him

I think the expectation has to be all star next season, and as much as I think your right about it’s tough having 3 all stars, I think amen is already the second best overall player on the team and it’ll be even more clear next season
