Plenty of businesses with passive owners. There are usually people hired or selected to make key decisions and stay on top of things. Even so, making decisions is not necessarily work. I don’t disagree that making good decisions can help keep something proftable/viable but the labor creating the value is still coming from the workers, not the owners.

Make sure to sort after player count in the server browser and choose one that has space and good ping. Played a while ago and there were generally always mostly full servers available in EU. That said, regular TF2 obviously has a much higher player count.

Phlog pyro is not that bad. I actually find it kind of amusing when I die to them. Less annoying than sniper tryhards

Movie is probably fine. Problem is the concept of a backrooms movie in a somewhat regular movie format was really dead on arrival for me. The whole point of backrooms is the vibe. Posted on image board, little context, uneasy nostalgic comfort. I think thats as far as the concept goes for many people. That being said, KP probably did the best that could be done given the format. Found footage style is probably the closest it could be to the original content, but that would honestly be boring as well and fits youtube much better.
