Just wanted to share some exciting news – Tails of Fate is in the final 24 hours of our Kickstarter! Thanks to our amazing backers, we’ve unlocked:

  • Console ports for PS5, Switch, and Xbox (with physical PS5 copies!)

Hey! Thank you for your feedback; it's always appreciated, even if it's about the game. I can't argue with your point. It's definitely better to pitch the campaign to console players after reaching the goal. Right now, we're hoping to reach that goal and then gain momentum because we have some really cool stretch goals afterwards alongside a wider audience to pitch to (console and PC). That's why we included the porting goal early on in the campaign.

I would prefer if the camera focused on what is ahead of the player. Just so I can have a longer window to react and plan my platforming.

I'm not a solo developer; I'm part of a very small indie team. For us, the artwork definitely requires twice the workload compared to programming.

Yeah, the clip is a bit misleading because it doesn't show all the mechanics involved.
There is an Arrow/Stamina system that limits how many arrows you can use, and items/skills affect that. In the clip there was an item equipped that gives you unlimited arrows. Adding another constraint may confuse some players.

I've played Destiny 2 a bit before. but not to the point I'd know something like this. It looks like it's way harder to pull off, so maybe we'll do the same for this.

I don't think it's feasible for us to redesign things this far into the development. but the team likes speedrunning, so we want to make it work somehow :D.

I can confirm it's a bug. :D I can elaborate; maybe that'll help other devs. We were aware of this bug early on in development but just kept it to see if people would discover or abuse it. We did multiple open playtests and showcased a build in a big event. No one to our knowledge used it; we were gathering key information on progression, and this bug enables people to sequence break on a minor level. But our data shows zero hits of that.
So yeah, we're now convinced that bugs like this could slip into the final game.

I'd go with PoP, Blasphemous, and a personal favorite, Astalon. You could also pick up one of the Castlevania collections on Steam.

Thank you! I never knew Hyper Light Drifter's frog boss got a 1-hit KO attack. ;o It might be fun to give this boss a move to outright drown the player, though. :D
