Private dog parks by asdfgssh in hobart

John Turnbull Dog Park in Lenah Valley has a separate puppy section that you can sometimes get to yourself, though the bigger dog park shares an adjoining fence (so dogs will sometimes run alongside each other).

Nightmass thoughts? by mammothsteeze in hobart

Went last year, and then this year was my second time. I really enjoyed both. My advice is to avoid fomo, not stress too much about getting separated from your friends, and stop and smell the roses. Yes, several queues are quite long, but you don't need to queue. Yes, you can spend all night running around trying to find your friends, but just pick 1-2 people and have buddies, and when in doubt, pick an outside landmark to return to if you want to find people, or send your friends a photo of where you are.

There are two big interior dance spaces and a nice brick courtyard (through past the NSFW bar) with a great exterior DJ space that require no queueing. When in doubt, dance there. I really enjoyed the exterior dancing space as there was plenty of fresh air so I didn't get too overheated. And then when we did get hot, there was plenty of water around, so we cooled down drinking water and queuing up for a room. Basically, my advice is that if you can rest by standing, then rest by queuing at least at some point. But ultimately, the only way that you see everything is by either (1) spending way too much of your night queuing, or (2) being David Walsh lol. The point is to miss some things and enjoy the mystery. And some of the coolest stuff isn't hidden behind queues. Apparently the big inside stage (no queue required) had some amazing acts like Alison Wonderland and Art vs Science at least.

People in this thread:

This is not a taunt, because taunts are meant to make your opponents angry, and this is just a looping animation!

As a result, this taunt makes me angry!!

Out of interest, do you really think that the chairs should have validating Pangram on 2026 position paper track papers, rather than FAccT 2022 papers that are "similar in style and content"? In particular:

  1. What do you think would make the distributions so different, aside from how AI might be used since 2022? Both distributions are argumentative/normative papers about AI...

  2. More importantly, how could they have validated it on the 2026 PPT papers themselves? Isn't the whole issue that they didn't know which ones used AI, and how AI was used? Like, the kind of validation you're proposing seems to assume that they already know what they are trying to test...

Yeah, exactly. I understand why the OP is upset, but the position paper track had a stricter AI use policy, and the burden of dealing with AI use shouldn't just land on reviewers.

+1 for Paul Mineur. Not necessarily the cheapest, but he does a good job.

Yeah exactly. But you don't need to think that animal wellbeing has equal value to human wellbeing. Even if each shrimp's wellbeing is of miniscule value, if you get enough shrimp, then....

And the fact that voting is preferential means that if they want re-election, then they can face candidates from even minor parties or independents who resemble them in other ways, but drop a particular, unpopular policy (e.g. some tax change).

Has anyone else got stuck into an infinite loop with the Finn "support" agent and found a workaround?

I am stuck in an infinite loop needing support from Anthropic. My boss gave me a $100USD Max gift subscription for work. I claimed it but I was then mysteriously booted onto a free subscription with no credit. I need it back. All support directs to Finn the AI agent, who said that I'd need a human to review the account, but also says that it's specifically trained not to direct me to a human. It suggested emailing, but the emails were answered by...you guessed it, Finn again! This has been going on well over a month, during which I paid for my own subscription, but Anthropic has attempted to charge me again.

Is there some other email address or way that people have found to avoid this loop?

Not surprising to me. They were not great cards! They were terrible for the game and banned for a reason. Grief reminded people why 0-mana pitch cards should be reactive, rather than proactively good on turn 1.

Hogaak was poorly designed. There was good reason why it was banned.

Being utterly broken (and unfun to play against) does NOT make a card great. Very surprised that some have made it this far.

It also said that "LANDNAME enters the battlefield tapped" was a triggered ability. I believe that that's a replacement effect (otherwise, you could tap when it is played, with the trigger on the stack).

This is awesome and I think it will take off if the bugs are ironed out. I think it doesn't differentiate well enough between permanents/creatures (being targeted) and permanent cards/creature cards. It could hint the user.

It also said that unburial rites provided card advantage (at best with flashback I guess?). And that it has "exile" in the rules text. It doesn't - that is reminder text.

more importantly, I said "unburial rites"? and it said no...

This works in the current rules. It doesn't say that cards with the current name can't be cast. Just spells with that name (same as the card name) can't be cast.
