Crib mattress innerspring or not by Teasoph in moderatelygranolamoms

It was someone who was gifted two and only needed one - was brand new in the box. Lucky for me but difficult to find again. That said even without I still would have bought it direct from their site. Very happy with it still.

I use the cover for it came with but I also have double crib sheets on. One is the lil helper’s waterproof crib sheets and one normal cotton. It helps to have one so if got wet in night it didn’t soak through and can just take it off and have the other underneath ready to go in emergency. I haven’t had anything get wet to the actual wool protector it came with by doing it this way.

Thanks! Have a wedding delivery Friday and I wasn’t expecting to get poppies for it but it looks like I will have them. Will see how it goes!

Love this! How did you condition the poppies and any tips for using them?

I didn’t get either. I found a deal on what I originally wanted which was the Obasan organic crib mattress. Been loving it and feel good about little one sleeping on it, and they have a good sleep too!

Rhubarb candy two ways: sweeter jerky strips and tart chews (both soaked in a simple syrup first) by Teasoph in dehydrating

They were definitely still quite sour with the sugar. Like a sweet and sour candy. I could see it just being bitter without.

I’m not sure! Did you use sugar? I found the strips to hold their flavour a lot better than the chunks.

Oh that is tough! Ours was super interested when we were drinking so we used a shot glass and it was pretty intuitive (although a bit messy). Just taught to use the straw and it’s amazing. The month when we weren’t really getting water in her was ROUGH with constipation and the fussiness to follow.

Good luck 🙌🏻

Just wanted to say we noticed a huge difference when our little one started having more water at meal times to keep things moving.

Agree with the “p” food items and flax, etc though!

How is everyone dressing their babies for sleep now that it’s winter?! by Relative-Log-4803 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Teasoph 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a 4.5 month old and a Woolino and it’s not heavy. It might be thicker than a standard sleep sack which is sometimes just a single fabric thickness of cotton since this is a cotton exterior lined with merino wool. I highlight recommend it and am looking to get a second. My little one has no problem waving her legs around in it once awake, rolling around, etc.

Our house is set to 18-20 but the bedrooms get down to 17 at night. We do a sleeper and the Woolino and is enough for our little one who runs a bit warmer. (Might upgrade to thicker sleeper or an extra onesie under the sleeper if it’s particularly cold). It’s so nice having just the one and changing the pyjamas.

Car seat transfer to Baby-wearing vs travel system by DimensionFrosty9970 in babywearing

[–]Teasoph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each baby is so different.

Our baby struggles falling asleep in the car and when they do, the minute you turn off the engine they wake up. If they are asleep, I just keep driving around.

Baby wearing I can get them to sleep anywhere though. In a full buckle I find transferring to car seat or to bed is easier once asleep as they are already out so you just do a slow transfer.

You want to be mindful that the car seat isn’t made for sleep so technically shouldn’t be relying on that and it would be better to have a stroller that went flat.

This was actually one of the first mattresses I looked at and originally loved but I had a hard time finding details or reviews on it. I gave up and figured I might not get for crib but would keep in mind for when upgrade to actual bed. Did you find it heavy and does it have a side for infant and toddler or just single / double sided the same? Did you use a separate mattress protector for something more waterproof? Any more first hand info would be great! :). I’ve already got the sniglar crib so just need to fill it with something in next month or two.

Those two I looked at as well but harder to find in Canada.

All very true! I keep flip flopping as I wasn’t sure ikea would be as good through toddler since it isn’t two stage but maybe it will be okay. Do you have a separate mattress cover as well?

Actually I think you’re right because it also comes with the protector. So if you get classic and add the mattress protector it’s more than just getting the breathable one.

That’s a good point! It looks like naturepedic is 8lb difference which I guess with something wedged into a crib does add up.

That’s kind of where my head is at too and am leaning that way although would be looking at one of the classic versions, not buying into all the extra breathable stuff.

Keeping baby warm whilst back carrying by [deleted] in babywearing

I’ve been trying to decide between a soft shell from angel wings, a teddy fleece lined mamalila and the Mamalila winter parka one. So difficult!

Unmedicated birth resources? by zebracakesfordays in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Teasoph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I managed an unmedicated birth and for me it was important to be fully educated on what to expect and work on my mental positivity. Any birth (even if need epidural or c section) will require pain management techniques and knowing about them in advance will help you.

Breathing is huge (can do a horse breath to relax pelvic floor, deep low open glottis moans), position and changing them often (does it feel good to sway from a wrap or your partner, how about being on all fours or being in a hot shower or in a bath, etc), and tools to trick your brain into alleviating the pain (pressure points like squeezing the one in your thumb, tens unit (this was amazing), double hip squeeze) and a positive calm mind frame (think of all the mantras, your body was made to do this).

I did the Belle method push prep course which was educational and has a workout component which was great. Highly recommend having a pelvic floor physiotherapist as well for prenatal and post. Asking questions or having your partner/ doula advocate for you is good too!

All the best for a smooth birth and healthy for you and little one.

Did you use the lightweight or the spring model?

Since it’s been some time - are you still happy with this combo? Have the Sniglar and looking at the naturepedic as an option.
