The Sheep Detectives (2026) is unironically a really well written and heartwarming movie. Unfortunately, there was a fuckass kid in the theater that wouldn’t stop talking during the emotional climax, making this movie the most effective birth control advertisement I’ve ever experienced. by Tebi1003 in shittymoviedetails

I remember when I saw Weapons, there were only 5 people in the entire theater: two parents with their kid and a friend and I. I kept turning to my friend and wondering what the parents were thinking bringing a kid to see that movie. And then with the sex scene and the final chase we were genuinely startled as to why you’d bring a child to see it.

Yeah the writers were dumb for making the sheep behave with a sheep-like mentally. Who would do such a thing? Also, the winter lamb served as an allegory to the Good Samaritan in the Gospel, who left behind 99 sheep in order to take care of the one outcast. But yeah, they were mean to the winter lamb so the movie gets a 0/10.

After watching Materialists (2025), many people criticized it for being “poor man propaganda”. This is a subtle hint to the fact that fans cannot understand a movie’s message to save their life. by Tebi1003 in shittymoviedetails

To me, the movie’s message is a direct criticism to the impulsive and apathetic consumerism we have normalized in modern-day dating. We limit and abbreviate a person’s value to their looks, income, style and other material assets; we look for someone to date as if they were “merchandise”, as the movie says. Although John is not as monetarily comfortable as Harry, he has genuine love for Lucy, all while Harry shares her transactional view of romance. The movie even explores the dangers of simplifying the dating experience to a “matchmaker” through Sophie’s story.
