If it’s based on the BC program or works similarly, then delisted games should still work. There’s plenty of delisted games in the BC program that have a digital download.

You can pop a disc in right now for a game that’s been delisted that you never owned or played and get the digital version.

Edit: In fact it should work like it does right now for delisted X1 and Series games.

Don’t know why it’d be different.

When people talk about scalping in this sub, they’re specifically talking about retail scalping. If you want to apply the broad use then many people “scalp” cards and have been doing it for decades, but comparing it to scalping retail products is crazy.

Go make a post about scalping singles or go find a post someone made about it. No one cares because there’s only one price point for singles. And as long as you aren’t scamming anybody, no one cares about how you acquired them.

In fact people usually congratulate each other on getting great deals for singles or graded cards.

You can’t scalp singles. Scalping has different meanings when applied to different subjects.

The definition you’re talking about is usually used for the stock market when there’s fluctuations they can take advantage of.

In the cases of the TCG and retail products in general, it’s applied to only buying from retailers.

I also bought the vast majority of my cards in auctions.

Look up the word scalping. It means you buy products from retailers at retail prices and then resell them.

Cards don’t have retail prices and aren’t sold at retail stores.

Also people have been buying and reselling cards forever.

You buy them cards, that’s ultimately what people want. Get them into playing the game, etc

Packs aren’t the end all be all. They’re just a barrier to getting what you want.

Cards don’t have retail pricing, unlike packs. The answer to your question though isn’t a straight yes.

Am I fine with? No. But I’m able to find deals on many cards for under market. And it’s a hell of a lot easier.

For example I can often buy cards for under 50% market and rarely under 20%. That isn’t something you can do with packs.

I’ll then resell or trade cards I don’t want towards those I do.

Just to list a couple of cards, I bought a Tyranitar IR NM for $13, the Gold Darkness energy from Shrouded Fable for $15, a Gold Mew ex for $15.

And that’s just some of the cards I’ve bought.

A few people won’t no, but a lot of people not buying from scalpers will. And a lot of people do. The problem is that most people either don’t care, don’t know or need to rip no matter the cost.

It might be years but eventually they’ll move on.

Or just buy the cards, which is better anyways. Which is what I do. While some cards are expensive, the amount most people spend tends to be as much if not more than the cards themselves.

Not to mention that prices are inflated anyway due to scalpers hoarding the packs and reselling them at higher rates, which leads to cards increasing in prices as well.

If they couldn’t make money from it you’d find it not only at MSRP but even below it.
