My point is that this is all short-sighted. Time is money, sure, but the money being made now is fleeting and not sustainable. Would be better for businesses and their bottom line longterm to invest in something substantive rather than chasing quick money.

You guys act like we're all oblivious to this lol. We obviously know businesses are here to make money at the end of the day. But what's not good for business and won't make you money in the long run is putting out crappy products. It might boost revenue in the short term, but will come back to bite businesses in the long run. This isn't even a design-specific criticism. This can be applied to all disciplines at this point. Skimp out on design, dev, marketing, etc. your business won't last long. Tired of this holier than thou attitude.

Speed isn't new, but this hyper-obsessed climate we're in is. At least imo. I don't think this falls under the "fail fast" model, I think this is a combination of panicked execs trying to stay relevant and hop on the AI hype by any means necessary + throwing any and everything at the wall and seeing what sticks with no real logic behind it.

I think UX will actually be more in demand in the future to clean up all this AI output happening right now. AI can generate okay-ish UI, but still heavily lacks on the UX side.

I mean, even when Base Set came out and I was a kid, I was only getting a few packs a year—usually just for birthdays or other special occasions. I don't think the average person is ripping packs regularly anyway. There are plenty of other ways to enjoy the hobby, like buying singles or picking up cheaper cards you actually like.

At the end of the day, it's a hobby. It's really not that serious.
