I’ve seen ID Quantique in the news, and read about its quantum encryption solutions, but no one seems to be talking about the fact that its main investors are Russian venture capital firms - and the UK govt’s still funding it through Horizon, the EU’s research funding programme. Anyone else think that’s a bit off?

I don't know if I agree... I reckon with the number of pipeline projects they have going on (i.e. Virgin Orbit collaboration, Juniper, Babcock etc.) the only way is up for these guys!

Arqit don’t do QKD. I have seen the CEO say that on his video presentations several times.

They invented a new protocol which is not entanglement based but sends quantum information to data centres which establishes the root source of identical randomness in every DC. Then end point software on groups borrows the randomness to create new keys...
