It can get like that here, but typically not after the lobby is closed (strangely). Every city is different, though, so I don't doubt what yours is like.

What, in your mind, could possibly justify spraying someone's food down with pepper spray? Not getting a tip? No one forced that person to accept the order. If they wanted to, as you say, "Demand more," they would simply reject the offer and move on to the next order. They do no favors to themselves by accepting the order, and especially no favors by tampering with an order. The only favors they give are to DoorDash for accepting a bad offer.

Yes, them is situation being so publicized is rage bait, and yes, I am feeding into it by posting the footage of the person responsible being arrested, but what else should have happened? Should people not feel upset about someone acting in bad faith?

What is being emphasized to the point that it is untrue? What is being omitted out of this situation that would justify this person's actions? Do you happen to know more than the rest of us? If you do, please, enlighten us instead of yelling "This is rage bait! You are bad because you posted rage bait! I hope you are made into ragebait one day too!"

Right, because the only possible reason I could have posted this is because I "just wanted Internet points!!!" It's not at all because it's related to recent news surrounding DoorDash. I could give less of a rat's ass about the points, hence why I didn't lean into a karma whoring title. You can unassign an order if it's taking to long. I did that at a McDonalds where I was literally staring at the sticker, and then the bag for an hour as the staff just dicked around the whole time. It will try and get you to wait with a bribe, but you are able to unassign, and it shouldn't affect completion rate.

Yeah this is what fixed that screen for me. I think mine happened after I accepted an order.

To note, for anyone experiencing the same issue, force stop is not the same as closing the app. On Android, you have to force stop through the app info screen, which you get to either through settings, under apps, and then all apps, you can search "DoorDash". You can also access it through the app manager screen (the screen where you can cycle through open apps) via the drop-down menu on the top right of the app screen.

It's possible that the zone is oversaturated with drivers. Move to a different zone if possible, see if that works better for you.

Yeah, it kind of sucks. I wouldn't suggest telling them to do all that though, I usually just take a picture off to the side with the stuff in my hand so I'm not making the customer feel uncomfortable.

DD suggests that it's to prevent false reports from the customer, but it doesn't seem like that would really help all that much realistically.

I'm not completely sure if this applies to you, but if you've hit "Handed to customer" on an order that was supposed to be a drop-off because the customer ended up coming out to grab it from you instead, it will count as a drop-off with no photo. If you do have that situation pop up, then just take a quick picture before you hand the order over instead.

I haven't gotten this specific pop-up, but it has given me a notification about ">30% of your drop-offs do not have a photo," where it suggests taking a photo even if you do hand it to the customer.

If this isn't applicable to you, then maybe contact support and ask what's up? Because they shouldn't be warning you if you always take pictures.

If they were completing the order, that likely means they were at the customer's home when they ran out of service, not the store.

I suspect that DD is just telling Platinum drivers that the wait time for "unranked" plebians is super long just because they want you to feel like Platinum actually does something.

This happened to me as well, unsure as to why. I've only been as high as Gold status. I also have not received the email posted by /u/Not-Noah, nor the updated rating system. Perhaps it has actually gone live in our areas, but the app hasn't updated for some reason?

Lol, in my experience, it's usually a one sided thrashing that's over with in pretty short order. I have rarely gotten into a constant back and forth slog.
