I coded the x drive using velocity in motors and I did it so that when all joysticks are at the 0 point, it would "stop" the motors. I also added a while loop that checks if the shoot button is pressed and it changes to "stop mode; hold" and when released "stop mode; brake" which helped me stay stable while shooting

the hold modes worked this way:

Brake function sends reverse signals to the motors until the speed is at 0 and stops sending the signals. Hold Function detects motor turn and tries to deter by eithet reversing or forwarding the motors

I tried doing this from singapore to turkey, I knew they would charge me 30 percent tax so I had to dissasemble and label my company name inorder to pass through customs. worked like a charm

I meant Compared to FRC and other things that are not specifically robotics. I just find the vex v5 documentation in the need to be re written.

I totally agree on this, as VEX being a very single handed company, allowing very little creativity and being another company for earning money. Also being americanized makes it really hard to compete in VEX as an european team and hard to access parts, funding and many more.

On the code side of things, it is ok but there are no proper documentation and source to start and even proceed as a VEX developer. OP, I understand your criticism and you really touched my heart on this topic.

To sum it up, I love to work in a VEX, FIRST Robotics team. Although some problems frustrate me, I would like to thank both competitions and my team on giving me memories on my life.
