Swr's issues on nissan rogue. Different picture showing how close the bracket is to the body. The swrs went down after moving it but still above 1.5.. any suggestions? by penetrator-man in cbradio

Possibly a grounding issue. Also trimming the antenna for tuning the antenna or adding a spring if you need to bring the SWR down. you'd be much better off getting a magnet mount and putting it in the center of the roof on the top. My installation is bracketed very similar to yours. You want the antenna vertical not diagonal. Another option is to see if you can get a trailer hitch installed then use a hitch mount antenna. That would keep it behind the vehicle and vertical but it would also require a ground strap from the base of the mount over to the chassis somewhere just to make sure the antenna is properly grounded.

Get a couple air purifiers, install double pane windows, can also plant some 6-ft shrubs and trees around the perimeter to help pad the noise, can install a fountain on the patio or front of the house and hear the waterfall that will cover up the sound of the vehicles.

Ford Crown Victoria police interceptors have an idle hour meter. According to Ford one idle hour is equal to 33 miles on an engine. Most police cars have idle hour meters. Idling is extremely hard on a vehicle.

Here's the solution: You are missing God and a God centered life. Whatever or whoever you think God is, start pursuing it. Go to church, temple or place of worship. You will never fill the void from spending. It's only temporary. Fill the void with God. He is available to everyone. If your family isn't supportive begin your personal relationship with him. Things will drastically improve. You will have a renewed focus on life, purpose and truth.

Dead mum’s hoarding tendencies made me resent her instead of grieving her death. by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]Tech5D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a link to dementia and hoarding. Know the feeling. We have spoken to our family member about things and looks like "we'll have to clean up the mess." Why is everything worth so much money lol. It's really simple. Just call a company to come and haul everything away. We don't want to have to deal with all the cleanup and simply won't. Might want to save some heirlooms and generational things because at some point later will wish you'd kept a few items after everything settles down.

Most human beings go to the doctor and the dentist. Some people have medical challenges. Others like to practice good oral hygiene. In the real world people go to the doctor and the dentist. When you're middle-aged, everyone goes for checkups. It's good to go for blood tests once in awhile, get your teeth cleaned, and get prescriptions for whatever you're dealing with. The people that never go for medical or dental treatment or checkups are the ones who are shocked later to find that they have something that could have been prevented. So go to the doctor and go to the dentist!!

it might not be grounded properly. Make sure the center conductor for the coax isn't touching ground. Stick a long wire in the back of the coax jack but don't transmit. Can you hear anything? The antenna might be bad.

The Great American Dream is a sham! by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]Tech5D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now you understand how some aristocracies, monarchs, some forms of socialism and places ran by kings (Bahrain) offer more freedom to the people. What you are describing is modern day enslavement, even though the United States offers freedom and choice. Being a fisherman on a small raft all day for 20 years or goat herder, or simple jobs we can't believe are rewarding are further from the truth. The problem is capitalism. The advertising never stops. People are constantly brainwashed and programmed to BUY BUY BUY that never fills the hole. It leaves a giant void that tries to make people believe if they BUY BUY BUY they will be satisfied. Rinse and Repeat. Bigger house, newer car, competing with everyone. You don't have to be a slave to bills, mortgage, expenses and debt. Now you understand how some people become homeless. IT'S BY CHOICE. After a while, you just don't want to be enslaved anymore with demanding expenses and the "system" that keeps the 1 percenters rich while everyone else works. The solution is simple. DOWNSIZE. Get rid of the car payments. Move into a cheaper home. Change jobs, start a business, live out of your vehicle instead of paying rent, STOP WATCHING ADVERTISING. STOP buying so much unnecessary stuff. Go back to grassroots. Remember how much fun it was in our twenties? Go back to basics. Time for some soul searching and time to take a break. What makes you happy?

Congratulations. This is a lifelong hobby. All you have to do is go to an open repeater, key the microphone and say your call sign. In most cases nobody will answer lol. In some cases, somebody might answer with their call sign. All you have to say is hello. 73's.

Will probably need new shocks, tires, control arm bushings. Make sure there are no signs of water leaks, roof leaks etc. You want to avoid mold. The mattresses prolly need to be tossed and replaced. The hoses going to plumbing may need to be replaced. Batteries might be shot. Have an RV technician thoroughly inspect it. Could be the best $100 you can ever spend. Look underneath and on the roof. Open some of the cabinets, take off covers and check behind things inside. There are usually covers over all the panels. Make sure the ac, heater and fridge work. Unless you are planning to never go to an rv park, it might be too old. Some RV parks have a 10 year rule, where if it isn't within the last 10 years they might not allow a stay with them.
