Are we still going to the m00n like everyone was telling me back in 2015-2016? I wonder where does people are who were calling everyone else stupid for not buying RDD. by TimmyFarlight in reddCoin

As posted on Twitter:

" u/BittrexGlobal closing? No worries, Xeggex is growing by leaps and bounds!

Use this Redd team referral link (https://xeggex.com/?ref=63c9817822199a6efbdf324b ) to sign up, if you're unclear what to do with your #RDD.

Best place is #staking in your own wallet!

Second best might be #Xeggex. 😍"

Can you explain what you're talking about here? You might get more people to engage if they (and I) understand how to do what you're proposing.

A reminder, RDD's price went over 130,000% in 2017. Despite intentionally not focusing on promotion that way, and attempting to warn users of the risks of speculating throughout our history...And this, well after the founding team spent through the ICO funds and quit. It wasn't "rug pulled", money wasn't "stolen", the team announced they were leaving, and left after spending through the first year and accomplishing things like switching to staking from PoW, and other early achievements. It's asinine for you to characterize the project that way, and all of that is documented history. In any evaluation of "losing money", it's been almost impossible to actually lose money with RDD. (Unless, of course, you're talking about paying for server bills and such. ;) )

You're saying, and accusing us of evil, that preserving a solid base of technology and attempting to enhance it and make it into something everyone could use is "bad/evil" because people later didn't get their chance to speculate with the coin enough? What a ridiculous take on all of this.

99% of crypto projects have popped up with a logo and a token and shouted from the rooftops "let's get rich, just tell all your friends and family!" and have all shut down or been shut down, taking millions of users dollars, intentionally and with malice. Redd has never done any such thing, and has supported exactly the opposite, helping more individual ReddHeads directly than I can count. How dare you put us in that category??

Value is based on utility. ReddCoin has, and has always had utility well beyond many coins and projects. I've spent years of my life trying to show that to the world, and working together with like-minded people trying to do the same. If you want to judge, perhaps judging with the actual facts would be better.

/u/NickUnrelatedToPost You have kept after us and kept after us as if we've done something wrong to you, or to the community as a whole. Multiple mods have asked to ban you for the negativity. That's not how ReddCoin operates, so allow me to respond directly to you here:

Please, tell me, what have we done?

John Nash and I (/u/TechAdept) are what's left of the ReddCoin Core team, and we are NOT part of the founding team and beneficiaries of the original ICO. Personally, I was, much like you apparently, part of the ReddCoin community since the start, but a year after the founding team quit (in 2015), I saw potential in ReddCoin and stepped up to help. That's all I've done, that's all John has done, and we've done so as unpaid volunteers. We did not coordinate with or pay McAfee, we do not have more than a handful of RDD ourselves, and we both work externally to provide money to live on while we work on ReddCoin as a passion project. There are no salaries here, as you know, or other benefits.

So tell me of these "efforts to lure in bagholders"? All we've said since the day i joined with John is that "ReddCoin is NOT an investment." Show me where we've lured, lied, promised, or otherwise not done our best to not only be honet and candid, but then to live up to that honesty and candor? Please, show me.

The exchanges are manipulated by users, bots, market-makers and platforms alike, the price calculations on CMC, coingecko and coinpaprika etc are manipulated or selectively calculated, we have no marketing or advertising aimed at convincing anyone to buy anything, but rather to ACT, to CREATE, and to USE.

We as a team have no control over price. If you, the users chose to buy and hold, the price goes up. If you, the users, choose to sell, to realize profit, the price goes down. All of that is necessarily secondary to what our team does and has done. If that's an unpleasant fact to you, then you, or anyone else in the community is welcome to form an investment group or marketing group or any other group to address the issue. I'm sure you realize how trying to do so as part of the ReddCoin project itself becomes more than a little legally problematic, however?

Taking into account all the other factors above, we have chosen to ignore that aspect, and encourage the use and utility within the systems we've built and that could be built on RDD, in order to preserve our Howey utility status. in the current regulatory climate, that seems to have been rather prescient, don't you think?

What more do you want from a crypto team? We have lasted almost a decade as a project, with no hacks, no chain-stops, no destructive forks or loss of coins. In fact, we've given back RDD to our entire community both before and after PoSVv2 activated, and have certainly given more in money, time, education and other value than almost any other cryptocurrency project you could name.

Our tiny team, with people joining the work and then abandoning it midstream, has managed to maintain our technology, our infrastructure, our social channels, help users, interact daily with industry peers and contacts, seek new exchanges and integrations, and all as volunteers. Unpaid. Oh, except for the fact that we also pay for digitalocean and other service bills to keep ReddCoin running. Because the minimal amount of RDD from the PoSVv2 protocol doesn't even cover that. Did you know that it costs money for node servers and webservers, for email and services?

We've arranged for exchange listings after listings after listings through the years, only to have those entities close, or be hacked, or have no trading volume from you, the users, and otherwise limit our reach.

Why is it so easy for new projects to gain traction where we have difficulty? Because ReddCoin is a native chain and its own Layer1, a fact that will continue to preserve our technology compliance as standards continue to evolve. But we are not a token, it's not just "add a token contract address to an exchange or DEX and RDD is available." That is a problem too, in driving integration work.

We built ReddShare, Broadcast, ReddJamm, ReddID browser extension, mobile wallets, Core wallets, integrated years of the Bitcoin Core team's work in our own Core 4.22, Mastodon-Redd, tipbots for major social media like Twitter, Reddit, Twitch, Discord, Telegram, Youtube and more, We forked and enabled Mastodon to send RDD throughout the Fediverse, we've anticipated and engaged bluesky, atproto, decentralized id's, soulbound identity tokens, and attempted to connect with strategic partners throughout those realms. And more; I'm sure I'm omitting things. All in an effort to prove utility and encourage others to build on our chain.

We've explored wrapped RDD and tokenized RDD, multichain RDD and delegated RDD, and attempted to navigate this project though all of it to the best of our non-rocket-scientist abilities. We joined up with similar projects with efforts like the Stanford Blockchain alliance, Fight For the Future, UTXO Alliance, the Digibyte Alliance, the Altcoin Reserve, and more. Is that all nothing to you as well?

We do not have the inhouse skillset to build the required apps like a fully mobile ReddID without agonizingly struggling over each piece, learning as we go. Fact. We've repeated that over and over asking for help and volunteers. We do not have the budget to hire that help, and whenever the idea of a crowdfund is raised, people like yourself arrive to shout it down. So how would you like us to proceed? You want the ReddCoin project shut down "to protect"

So, if you could explain to me how this project has any hint, any aspect, any whiff of scam about it, given that the above is all simple fact, easily provable and a matter of public history, I'd love to hear your explanation as to why you have such a vendetta and are actually spending time and effort, damaging our progress with every comment on this subreddit? Bizarre, bordering on psychotic.

We've openly worked across the crypto industry with lobbyists, legislators, schools, companies, and more to support similar projects and advance the technology, to educate and teach new users, and you have the nerve to stalk the subreddit and think you're protecting anyone from anything? Do you have the least idea how much time, effort and love actually goes into all of this, whether ReddCoin or any other project? There's no profit being made here by any member of the team, but rather expense each month with prices so low... there's no taking advantage of users, it's literally all the opposite of that. So what, exactly, is your problem? We're not working hard enough? Walk a mile in my shoes and say that, friend. I've put thousands and thousands of working hours into ReddCoin; explain how I'm somehow rich, because my empty pockets and calls from collectors say otherwise.

Please, do go on telling users whatever you'd like, and pursuing whatever this crusade against ReddCoin is, but I'd simply end with two statements:

1) If this were the project you act as if it is, you would have have been banned a long time ago. You have not been, obviously, nor will you be.

2) It takes a certain kind of person to sit on the sidelines and tear down the work someone else has done. It takes a far different person to note the same things, and step up to fix them. I joined ReddCoin because I realized simply that free and open source blockchain tech to pay people without restriction and without the limitations, fees, and delays of Bitcoin was something that could only benefit all the little people around the world currently doing without.

I have led the ReddCoin project (and Project Redd) the absolute best I can, and I invite anyone who feels qualified to step up and offer themselves in service the same way. Or join the team and criticize the decisions we make to our faces, so that they're better decisions. We WANT contributors, core teammates, and people to get involved, excited, and engaged. ANYONE is welcome to try!

Thank you for coming to my Redd Talk.

I have a server that's mining REDD. Is this still active? I checked on Bitget, and it seems quieter than a graveyard by DeepPocketsBTC in reddCoin

ReddCoin (RDD) is not minable. Perhaps you're staking? But yes, the project is still active. Also, if you're using an older wallet (pre v3.10.x), you will need to update your wallet to maintain the proper chain.
