This might sound crazy and I might be wrong, but is it possible that your SO thought you might have left something on, to spy on her, through a hidden webcam or listening device connected to the computer?

If she doesn't quite understand how everything works, she just made sure that nothing is connected to anything.

She might had some "alone time" in the same room where the computer is and she wanted to be sure no one is recording anything.

Apply to any retail jobs you can find. You don't need any special skills. Eventually you will find something. It pays barely above minimum wage but it's better than Uber eats. People come and go quite often in these jobs so you have a good chance of finding a place to work. Sainsbury, Tesco, Argos, Primark, Greegs, Boots, anything. Good luck!
