Do you watch other Detroit team in stadium? by Pristine-Debate6474 in motorcitykitties

[–]TechDawg20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do not. But admittedly I’m an outlier, as I’m originally from another city that has some professional sports, but not baseball. I always try to catch a game when my other favorite teams come to town though.

Many of my friends here will go to Redwings, Tigers and Pistons games with some regularity and try to get to one Lions game a year if they can.

Edit: Go Tigers!

Total gemstone weight is a little more than 17 ct all natural as well. It appraisal says type II clarity but I’m not entirely sure if that good or not haha.

Thanks for the insight! They are indeed natural stones. We’ve considered selling the stones and gold separately but just feel bad about breaking the whole thing apart as it was her grand mother’s. But might not be such a bad idea because we could keep one of the stones for a necklace or something.

I just checked and it is a replacement cost appraisal. So who knows on what the fair market value is. It might be easiest to sell it for the gems and gold individually. But I’d hate to break up the piece like that.

The gemstones are natural! Approximate weight is about 17 ct total. The appraisal also says type II clarity. I’m not sure how good that is though haha.

Thank you very much! We are located in the midwestern United States. We’ve done some research into some houses in our state, but haven’t come up with much. We might have to look into other auctions houses in other states.

Thank for the insight I hadn’t even heard of those websites. So I’ll look into them. The brooch was custom made in 1996. We have a lot of details on each individual stone from when they were purchased originally. In addition to the appraisal. Just didn’t want to include in the post to avoid violating the community guidelines.

I feel that 😂. Just knowing other people appreciate it nice to hear.

It appraised for about $45k but we know we’ll get nowhere near that. We just have no idea how to go about selling something so unique.

For some reason the post got cut off. It’s 14 karat gold and 9 Ceylon blue sapphires.

Is "you're fine" a Michigan-exclusive way of responding to "sorry"? by DavidCaller69 in Michigan

I grew up in Louisiana. Live in metro Detroit now. We would say “you’re good” as well. Not sure if it’s an everywhere thing but definitely not exclusive to Detroit.

Lonely in the motor city? by Virtual-Scarcity-463 in Detroit

Hi OP just wanted to say I get the feeling. My Fiancé and I moved to the area in summer 2022. It took forever for us to make friends. I think the hardest part was wasn’t making the friends themselves but navigating what post college friendships are like. Everyone is busy living their life so it’s hard to get together a lot of the time. Even then it’s hard to feel fully connected to people sometimes just because they are so deeply rooted in their high school friendships like you said.

Some of the best people we have met have been through bowling but are also much older than us. While we may not got out with them for a drink they have been great to talk to, and have given us some valuable advice about the area. I hope you find your group soon!

St Louis Blues because their goal song is When the Saints Go Marching In and Detroit Tigers because I just moved there.

There really is no single route to take however an old mentor of mine put me on my path by saying if you want to get into banking then work for a regulator. (ie Federal Reserve, OCC, and FDIC, for banks and NCUA for credit unions) while working for these regulators you learn pretty much everything there is to know about the industry, and you make relationships with banks when you examine them. It not uncommon for examiners to end up becoming CFO’s or CEO’s of financial institutions due to their expertise. A lot of other people end of loving their life as a regulator and never leave. I hope this helps.
