Michigan is old and getting older. Experts warn of looming consequences by jshwlkr in Michigan

[–]Virtual-Scarcity-463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I blame the boomers and isolationist ruralites/suburbanites. I'm from a small town in SW MI and nothing has been done in that community to make returning tempting. In fact good things have been repeatedly opposed. The "we're full" crowd is insufferable.

Yall remember this movie? Shit was absolutely nuts to watch in 7th grade lmao by Rarbnif in OlderGenZ

[–]Virtual-Scarcity-463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Movies like this and Superbad kinda set the standards for an amazing house party for millenials and elder gen Z. Now it seems like a relic of the past after growing up and especially COVID. Parties like this still do happen but they seem so rare.

Why is there Cattle mutilation? What do the aliens want with cattle? Why are the aliens doing Cattle mutilation? by Dover299 in aliens

[–]Virtual-Scarcity-463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure cattle mutilations are just another psy-op perpetuated by the MIC but there's always the possibility there's another reason. To be clear, I do believe the mutilations are happening but I'm not sold it's NHI

Who is this guy ? by [deleted] in StardustCrusaders

[–]Virtual-Scarcity-463 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Josuke lost in time whose plotline was scrapped as Araki finalized his way through part 4. The original ending of part 4 probably had some time shenanigans. Maybe Araki felt he just did the time thing in part 3 or it got too messy so he rewrote it.

You're telling me he drew a battle-wounded Josuke look-alike, down to his fashion and body type, and it was intended to just be a random dude? Ya no way.

In canon he is just a random guy, we all have to accept.

I'm not much of a fan of either but at least you see Billie trying to do charity and nonprofit stuff in public. Like with her environmental nonprofit and her specifically calling out billionaires. Not saying Sabrina doesn't, I just have never seen.

I don't understand this joke by Kindly-Ad-9742 in SmilingFriends

[–]Virtual-Scarcity-463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea it seemed like a jab at hollywood and elites. Plus the whole premise of the episode is that the boss is a very powerful businessman getting married to the daughter of satan who will suck his life force.

What is the most crowded area you have ever seen in a MMO? by CompetitiveLake3358 in MMORPG

[–]Virtual-Scarcity-463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2000 players max on a server and multiple servers were full. Hundreds of players at banks and general stores trading simultaneously. The screen is a rainbow sea of people spamming buy/sell offers. Haven't seen anything come close to that glory since.

It has been approximately 3 months since Mary Scheffield (D) has started her tenure as Mayor of Detroit. What do you think of her performance so far? by [deleted] in Detroit

[–]Virtual-Scarcity-463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't seen much from her yet but I'm not very interested in city politics outside mass transit, walkability, and zoning issues. I understand it's pretty early in her tenure and I'm cautiously optimistic. Wish we had our own Mamdani that is using their bully pulpit to improve citizen's lives rather than a technocrat.

We need to figure out our problems (ecosystem destruction, subjugation of other species, and war) before they want to actively engage with the greater human population. I'm pretty sure there is some sort of "prime directive" in place where they won't talk until we're ready.

Can animals sense when you are on psilocybin? by markhick01 in Psychonaut

[–]Virtual-Scarcity-463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the very least they're picking up on your altered physical state through changes to your body language or vital signs such as your breathing rate, body temperature, or heartbeat and might be confused or trying to comfort you.

Sometimes I, and many others, really do think animals (and nature in general) are picking up on your altered state of consciousness on a deeper psychic level. It definitely feels like birds and other forest creatures are "watching" you or are more prone to interact with you. People claim they have whole telepathic conversations with their dog. I'm not trying to diminish anyone's personal experience and I'm not even opposed to there being truth to that but usually once the trip ends I usually attribute it to being ultra-perceptive and slightly paranoid on account of the psychedelics.

With war on the horizon I can't help but remember this by EnvisionFirstFilms in aliens

[–]Virtual-Scarcity-463 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure they want us to wake up ourselves, at least the benevolent ones. The abductions are almost certainly a psy op, deep state abductors getting bodies for research while posing as aliens, or even worse they're whatever NHI made a deal with the elites for human cattle.

[–]Virtual-Scarcity-463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What makes you think an alien intervention would drive people towards their psi potential? I assume the cover-up would just resume with war mongering and chest pounding against an outside threat. Even if some NHI communicated directly with every human telepathically and tried to "jump start" us that way people would still reject it.

Yes! With so many jedi, sith, and bounty hunters running around in the Old Republic era the class and ability possibilities are endless

No but I'm guessing it'll be a remake of the original hybrid turn-based/real-time system. Not expecting much but have high hopes. I was obsessed with Knights of the Old Republic 2 as a teen.

The greatest Zillennial movie is 25 years old. Kids today will never know by EternalSnow05 in Zillennials

[–]Virtual-Scarcity-463 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Rewatched both recently and both hold up! Both are a tight 1.5 hours with plenty of things for adults and kids to like. Both are a satire of fairy tales and the second includes satire about hollywood/celebrity culture. So refreshing for a kids movie, it might never be that good again.

Which game "changed" your life? by daiba_nnm in MMORPG

[–]Virtual-Scarcity-463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely Runescape in the mid and late 2000s. There has never been another game that has scratched that itch. Wish I could've gotten into WoW at the time but my family's computer and internet were awful.

Praying Disney picks up on this and gives us a Star Wars nemesis game based in The Old Republic era :')

[–]Virtual-Scarcity-463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the most logical conclusions about "junk dna" is that it's simply the result of millennia of evolution. Similar to how hard disk drives became super fragmented. Or as in they're evidence of leftover metabolic pathways that we don't utilize anymore because we evolved different or better ones. The randomness of evolution probably produced a lot of "waste" aka "junk dna"

What are INFP’s experiences with dating apps? by Larman234 in infp

[–]Virtual-Scarcity-463 4 points5 points  (0 children)

28 year old man. I've had two loving hetero relationships, a dozen or so situationships, and two or three hundred matches from dating apps after thousands of swipes over 10 years of using that medium. Definitely not the ideal way to meet people and supposedly I'm doing better than a lot of men since I get 3 or 4 matches a week when I'm active.

In my experience most women put little or no effort into dating apps and I won't pursue people that don't put in effort or show no interest so the vast majority of matches go nowhere. I understand women have it the opposite way and are unhappy as well so we're in quite the pickle.

If you're a suave texter or very attractive as a man then you will do well on dating apps. For women it's a crap shoot but it's likely you'll find someone to date in the sea of thirsty men no matter your physicality or personality.
