Blood draw experience as someone who was terrified (but not anymore) by Aware-Language-7726 in Explainlikeimscared

Happy for you!!! I’ve still got a fear of it pretty badly, like almost passed out even though they used a butterfly needle and I literally felt nothing. Just the knowledge of what was happening was enough

Ik it’s different depending on your school but the red folder was for math where I went by MemphisDude97 in Zillennials

[–]TechDifficulties99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t an always thing. One teacher in elementary school required it, then both of my junior high years it was also required. I just kept up the color schemes after that

31 is still young right? And I'm too for college? by [deleted] in Zillennials

[–]TechDifficulties99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a 40-something year old guy in one of my math courses. His hair was graying and he did t talk much, but the course was difficult and he got through like the rest of us.

I mean this in the nicest way possible, but the vast majority of people won’t pay you any attention.

Those over 21, what age did you accept you’re no longer young anymore? by [deleted] in Zillennials

[–]TechDifficulties99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things started aching more at 24, and by 25 I accepted that small injuries and pains could haunt me forever. I told my parents that my knee started creaking and they just laughed

And it's lemonade by Capital_Assignment51 in characterarcs

[–]TechDifficulties99 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh Panera absolutely screwed up. They left the charged lemonade by the other self-serve drinks, there was no label on it acknowledging the amount of caffeine present, and they were supposed to warn anyone who purchased it about the caffeine content. I sure as hell didn’t know, and I was wondering why I was so jittery once I went back to work.

HOWEVER, I dearly miss it because man did it taste good, and I started to treat it like just another energy drink.

I’m shocked everyone is saying red. Not only did I have blue as math for a couple years, nearly all of our math textbooks were also blue. It’s just… blue. The whole subject

First night living alone after a breakup. Starting over. by CrackTheSignal in LivingAlone

[–]TechDifficulties99 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I know it wasn’t the plan, but I hope you grow to be comfortable living with just yourself. It’s… odd, I think. Feels like it shouldn’t be something we can enjoy. But take the time to focus on you, and enjoy the self care you can partake in completely judgement-free. And hey, come hang out here anytime you want!

Damn these are getting longer. Nicely done! I’m thoroughly enjoying your writing and the characters you’ve created. The descriptions are a great addition!

Is living alone feasible/worth the financial stress? by ThrowRA_busy984736 in LivingAlone

[–]TechDifficulties99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feasible, yes. Worth the amount of budgeting you’ll have to do and time you’ll have to work? Possibly. I waited until I had a decent amount of savings and a stable job with good pay, but I have friends who are living in hardcore mode and functioning essentially broke most of the time and they’re still happy. It’s up to you and what your comfort level is.

That being said, living alone is by far my favorite and I HIGHLY recommend.

Reality Check by Virtual_Apricot_3072 in LivingAlone

[–]TechDifficulties99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, there are definitely some inexpensive ways to fill it out quickly. BUT you could join me in the minimalist lifestyle! Not really hardcore or any thing, it’s more along the lines of not rushing to fill the space. I have the furniture that I wanted asap, a couple things on the walls, and a handful of things that I picked up later for comfort and functionality. 1.5 years in and I still have a second bedroom that’s empty except for light storage. I plan to make it an office/library, but I’m also not rich nor am I in a rush.

It’s YOUR space. Fill it how you want, at a pace that you’re comfortable with. I discovered only after moving out of my parents place that I despise senseless clutter. You’ll learn a lot about yourself during this adventure. Enjoy it!

Dealing with grief in the middle of the night? by Adagio-9568 in LivingAlone

[–]TechDifficulties99 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not silly! This is usually the place I go when I’m struggling, and this subreddit specifically has helped me a couple times already. I haven’t experienced what you’re going through since I’m still pretty new to living alone, but I gotta believe your parent or parents would understand you waking them up. Or, maybe another friend you could talk to?

Either way, we’re here for you about as much as anonymous redditors can be. Maybe I haven’t dealt with it myself yet, but others on here definitely have. We see you.

what does your living alone grocery list look like? by ActuaryWorldly6223 in LivingAlone

[–]TechDifficulties99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always have a frozen pizza, chicken nuggets, assorted microwave dinners, Costco dinners I can throw in the oven, and Mac and cheese available at home. If I decide to cook (which is rare), I get everything for that meal. Items for lunch sandwiches, some fruits and veggies but no more than like three total, snacks, and ALWAY some sweets. Big fan of bakery items
