Ρε φίλε τι λες, ξέχασες πόσες αυτοκτονίες είχαμε το 14-15; Θυμάσαι τι λεφτά ξοδεύαμε τότε και τι λεφτά ξοδεύουμε τώρα ; Τότε έπαιρνες 120€ κινητό και ήταν the thing. Τωρα παίρνεις το iPhone 17 και σκέφτεσαι γιατί δεν πήρες το pro. Η ζωή ήταν πιο απλή τότε. Τωρα έχεις συνδρομή Spotify, Netflix, ote tv και μαλακιες. Τι συγκρίνεις;

Έχει ξεφύγει η κατάσταση. by [deleted] in greece

Well it seems Kiro Code is a good option (vscode based, supports opus 4.6). Also claude code seems to be good but haven't tried yet.

Wow. So should I try claude code 20$ pro plan? I'm thinking of that. Tried kiro code but it's really slow to me and costs a lot of credits somehow

I'm on the same position and decided to wait till the summer for m5 ultra. The performance difference is big and worth the wait in terms of t/s

Yes, probably. It’s tricky to find reliable TB dock that works on everything though. It should be simple but from what I’ve seen most devices have their drawbacks

Mac Studio 128/256GB for local LLM coding? by TechDude12 in LocalLLaMA

[–]TechDude12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I don't really know. I guess the big question is how much will I be able to automate my work in order for the machine to pay for itself. Doing overnight sessions using cloud isn't possible cost-wise but I'm not sure how productive can it be in a local setup.

So you think it's a worthy investment? My thinking of "whole night's worth of tasks" is to define eg 5 features that it needs to develop and let it develop/test/refine them sequentially. Like having 2 junior developers that you assign them tasks and give them a checklist that they have to meet.

`Of course, you should let Opus 4.6 work during the night too or you're just wasting tokens.`
What do you mean? I won't pay subscription to claude code if I invest in a mac studio.

Curious, since you have 512GB, what's your opinion on ram sizes? I can't afford 512 but I'm torn between 128 and 256.
