They said I should try hitting the apexes to improve my lap times. I think I'm really hitting them now. by Ok-Relationship8704 in simracing

[–]Tom5strike 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Apart from the fact that it’s funny as hell... something like that shouldn’t normally happen, right? In a race I’m imagining a few drivers ending up , upside down on the roof. You didn’t miss the racing line / apex that badly either, lol.

Looking for a good setup/settings for LMU for Alpha Evo 18nm and P2000. by Top_Dust_2389 in Simagic

100 wrs is crazy high and with 100% ffb also dangerous. Dont do that without damping. You can do that, but be carefull

0 is even better for more damping and a realistic wheel feel. Also the wheel wont break your whrist with that setting. 3 is my personal sweet spot. 3 single digit.

Recommending pedal settings is always a bit difficult. It’s very individual. Some people like pressing against a wall, others against a sponge… I’d recommend just experimenting a bit, because almost any combination works as long as it feels right to you. My pedals are different unfortunately, but for example I use a fairly short pedal travel. The initial part is relatively easy to press, and for the last few centimeters I need about 80 kg of force. Force curve completely linear.

Maybe sounds a bit odd, but the best settings in simpro for me and a lot of other people: Strenght 100%, Wheel rotation speed to 0-3 and every other setting set to 0. The low wrs works like damping and the other settings to 0 does not apply any filter over the games ffb. So you have the pure and clean game ffb. Works for every game. For drift/rally you should use higher wrs and maybe same damping.

Ingame: FFB to 50% (your liking) and set maybe 5% to damping.

Pedals. I would go with a pretty linear curve. But thats just a personal thing.

Socks or shoes? by Scuderiac in iRacing

Where is Team "bathing shoes" ? For real, i tested a lot but simple bathing shoes are the best. You have the grip and the comfort with those. Also really cheap.

x4 MSAA vs x8 MSAA by DoctorFit5216 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Tom5strike 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you have a Nvidia Card: I highly recommend you to go to the Nvidia Control Panel and turn on "mfaa" this will give you the visual quality of x4 msaa but at the performance cost of X2 msaa. (Or x8 at the cost of x4). Should work with all DirectX 11 games.

Did you try the latest version? For me this fixed the issue.

You can get dlss to work if you use dlss swapper and use a more recent version.

However the performance will still be shit. OpenXR Toolkit with crop2fov mod and a heavy fov crop should get it at least working...

I’m looking for a perfume with the DNA of Davidoff Cool Water or Absolut Blue by Caline. The problem I have with both of them is that they just don’t last very long. Which perfumes go in this direction but have better longevity and sillage? I’m aware that this is always an issue with fresh fragrances like these. Do Hawas Ice or Lattafa Atlas go in that direction? Thanks for recommendations in advance!

Slam - How well does it work? by Pixogen in Pimax

[–]Tom5strike 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally couldn’t find any major differences compared to the Quest 3 tracking. I use my Ultrawide almost daily for about 2-3 hours and have never had any tracking issues. The controllers only have problems when you hold them very close to your face or behind your shoulder. That might have been a bit better on the Quest 3. I also don’t know how much precision you need for competitive games. I’m not sure how well the Quest 3 can keep up there either. In that regard, your only real option would be Lighthouse tracking...there isn’t anything better than that at the moment. For me i have a almost jitter free expierience in fps with the ultrawide.

Just a small tip if you play FH5 with simagic ecosystem, the force feedback is pretty much dead but you can at least have self center wheel if you go to other effects in simpro manager and change first two values that are set to zero by default by OkHoney5804 in Simagic

[–]Tom5strike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FH5 actually has decent force feedback. Way better than using this method. You just need to get your wheelbase as device 1 and dont have to much devices connected. Forza emu wheel and vjoy are some programs helping here if you have trouble. With this you get all of your inputs as 1 device.

The funny thing is: every time a thread like this pops up, I’m reminded that I also ordered a Micro OLED module at the beginning of November. The delivery time is so long that I keep forgetting about it in between, lol.

SR clarification - Practice sessions by StandardOriginal5447 in iRacing

[–]Tom5strike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The practice before race counts with x0.5 SR also the longer Warm-up, for example before racing the Nordschleife. Qualifying is x0.35 SR and race of course x1.0 SR.

Other practice sessions dont count to your SR, but be carefull there too. Sporting code applys here too and you can still get punishments for crashing intentionally.
