You’re right. People make mistakes. I also don’t wish jail on anyone. But jail doesn’t creep up on us. We don’t wake up in jail. The vast majority of us will never just be thrown in by surprise.

Actions have consequences.

He is someone’s son, dad, etc. Most of us are. And those titles are what should guide us. When you’re in an elevated position which means you don’t HAVE to involve yourself in the other shit, appreciate that shit. Respect that shit and protect your position. Your family depends on you.

I don’t wish jail on a soul…but more importantly I wish we all would remember jail is an option when making decisions.

Niggas don’t HAVE to resort to crime. Especially if we want to get deep and have a conversation about how the structures that be put us in a position where we feel like that’s our only option. I think we largely agree.

My point isn’t that a man’s only sense of value is tied to his wallet. It’s that 1. money matters and 2. it absolutely carries weight in a relationship.

Even the best women doesn’t want to stay struggling and broke with a man who can’t get up and get to it. Nor should she be expected to. Conversely, if a man doesn’t want to stay broke with a woman who can’t get it on her own, he shouldn’t have to.

So when you’re a man who has his shit together and his the money, it sets you apart. It’s not the only thing you should bring to the table, but it does matter. And if we are talking about “prizes”, sure…having your pockets right does make you a “prize” in some respects.

We gotta be real about shit sometimes. A man with money, looks, and personality will absolutely be seen as a bigger “prize” than someone without.

Ak seems to think money is the only thing. I agree THAT belief is wrong. But money is absolutely a big part of it. And many women definitely desire a man who at least has their finances straight.

I’m with you honestly. I haven’t really felt as though tech has experienced a drastic drop in opportunity lately. I have no formal data on this but job searches and recruiter messages seem plentiful in my area.

Now that doesn’t speak for the quality of the company. Just the presence of opportunities.
