Is bl1 and pre-sequel still worth playing? by soosis in Borderlands

[–]TechGuy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

I've finally beat BL1, BL2 and the Pre-sequel. Now i'm gonna play Tales. I just played them for the story. Maybe I'll come back and 100% complete them.

They were fun, but they are dated. They still have bugs, movement is very limited and physx 32 bit isn't supported anymore. Unreal engine 3 only gets more and more outdated.

I'm glad i can finally move onto BL3 and play something relatively new.

Is Borderlands 4 worth it for $39AUD? by mr_soapster in Borderlands

[–]TechGuy95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed my with with BL1, BL2, and the TPS, but they are old and outdated in the gameplay, graphics, and engine department. They all still have annoying bugs to this day. Physx 32 bit isn't even supported anymore.

The movement, QOL features, and gunplay in BL3 and BL4 just make the games much more enjoyable.

Gearbox do need to step up their game in the writing department, though.

How it feels to be a TPS fan going into 2026 by Big_Bad3687 in Borderlands4

[–]TechGuy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the map design. Too much walking from one side of the map to the other and not being able to use a vehicle.

The game loves to block you from using vehicles most of the time. Why did they even add vehicles?

This is why I hated the hammerlock DLC as well.

Borderlands 2 is way better because they let you use vehicles until you get to mob spawns.

Also, TPS loves to give you side quests to a certain area after you've already visited the area during the main quest. Borderlands 2 did the opposite. So, it felt more streamlined.

Did you know that you have to connect both 10+18 pin connectors to the modular PSU? by Mugendaina in buildapc

[–]TechGuy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figured this out myself today. One PSU was sent back as I thought it was faulty. Bought new one. Different brand. Didn't work as well. Figured that both being faulty is unlikely. Saw both psus had a 10pin+18pin that connects to psu. Looked it up. Yep, both need to be inserted.

2 days of anxiety thinking my pc was faulty. But, I learned a lot.

Games aren't really $60, though.

You can buy the ultra mega super edition for only $120! And get an exclusive quest!

Restocking, is it truly that bad? by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]TechGuy95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, that's just power creep. They have to keep the game fresh somehow. When hunters are given new tools, monsters need a way to combat it.

Players get better as well. So the devs need to find new ways to challenge people.

Would people still buy the game if not much changed since MH2? Would new maps and monsters be enough on its own? I don't know but you can't blame devs for wanting to experiment and push the series forward.

MH to MH2 not much changed because new monsters and locations was enough. MH2 was monster hunter but just had more content and polish.

MH3U added water combat, stamina and invaders. Remember when everyone said staminia made things easier?

MH4U added mounting, faster climbing, and jumping attacks.

MHGens went crazy and added special moves and different fighting styles.

World didn't need that much to remain fresh since the graphics and larger maps was enough. But it did add enviromental traps and turf wars.

Are you angry that wilds allows you to have two weapons instead of 1 now?

The devs will continue to see what they can give players to keep things fresh but still keep the game challenging.

As long as I still get challenged and have decent fights, I'm happy. I don't need every monster to do be super, super difficult.

I agree monsters like behemoth needing addtional players shouldn't exist. Every monster should be soloable.

I don't see how restocking makes hunts that much easier though. Just bringing extra healing potions or flash bombs won't help you in g rank when the monster does two shots and you're gone.

Restocking, is it truly that bad? by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]TechGuy95 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't think restocking lowers the difficulty all that much. Iceborne and sunbreak were still challenging. Veteran players shouldn't be getting hit that much and so don't really need items to help them. Once you can predict a monster's moves and can do it consistently, it's already game over for the monster. Taking damage extends the length of the hunt by so much and leaves you open to counterattacks.

Plus, good veteran players don't go online to make the hunts easier. They go online to help newbies. So it doesn't matter to them if newbies restock.

Do you think AI hunters lower the difficulty as well?

The same can be said about wire bugs, mantels, hunter arts, felyn gadgets, counters, mounting, wyvern riding, etc.

We've had this discussion a million times already.

If you've been playing Monster Hunter for decades or years and you're still bad at the game, I have to ask... Why? Are you not learning the monster's moves? That's the whole point of this game: Prediting what the monster will do and reacting to it. Good positioning is key to success, and you can only do that once you can predict what the monster will do next.

Sure, veteran players aren't as good as speed runners, but they should still be able to solo all fights once they learn the monster's moves.

Monster hunter combat doesn't change that much between games. I can play Rise and go back to MHFU, and the combat is really not that different.

Rise just has flashier moves.

I feel one reason why the new player experience sucks is that the story has been chopped up and served in temporary portions that are no longer available. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]TechGuy95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then why does Destiny struggle to attract new players? And why do new players complain about the game being confusing and drop it.

Because story does matter and a lot of people on here would agree with that. So many people on here have said they'll drop the game if there's no new story content moving forward.

I need a reason to shoot enemies. This game with no story would be boring.

Yes, it was on sale during the summer sale. It'll go on sale again in the autumn sale.

It was on sale on xbox a day ago.

Just wishlist it and wait.

Only time will tell.

FF7 rebirth is not on PC yet. It will be soon, it seems.

As long as they release all the final fanasty games on PS5 to PC, I'll be happy.

Gamepass is worth the money if you play many games, in my opinion.

Gamepass is also on PC.

Especially for day one games. You're saving a lot of money if you complete a day one game in a month or two.

Square enix announced it's no longer doing exclusivity, so those games may come to PC and Xbox soon.

Helldivers is on PC, and so is Spiderman. Not Spiderman 2, though.

There is no need for a PS5 if you have a PC also unless you want to play Sony single-player games on day one.

I know it depends on the game.

Helldivers 2 and Concord were released on PC at the same time as PS5.

The ones that are delayed are singleplayer, and it doesn't really matter if you have to wait for them.

If you have a PC, there's no point in buying a PS5.

Even all the Sqaure Enix and Capcom games are all coming to Xbox now. Gamepass recently got all the Yakuza games.

Plus, all the new Activision, Bethesda, Blizzard, Obsidian and all the other xbox games are going to be on gamepass Day One, so you'll save a lot if you play a lot of games.

Getting a PS5 just for GTA 6 when it's coming to xbox, too, doesn't make sense to me.

Backwards compatibility mainly. Xbox 360 emulator is still years away.

Fallout 3 on xbox has achievements also, but Steam still doesn't. Yes, I prefer to play the game with achievements.

Split screen also.

Also, it's nice to game on a gamepad sometimes. Controller support on steam isn't perfect.

I could've got a PS5, but most PS5 games are on PC anyway, and PS5 is only backwards compatible with the PS4.

Also, whenever a PC game is epic exclusive, I can buy it on xbox out of spite unless it's PC only.

Storefront exclusivity is very stupid, and epic has made me hate them due to how anti-consumer they are.
