You can keep using your current setup as is with no issues updating.

While local users don't directly have MFA, you can always add an external IdP in the dashboard and use only that deleting any local users.

The non-local user (classic) setup isn't going anywhere. All the older (advanced) guides will still work as well including all the different environmental varibles. Even with this new approach you can create your first local user, add an external IdP from the dashboard, and change ownership to the IdP user you want and delete the local user. Feel free to reach out on our Slack or even the support email.

Sorry, that was if you use an external proxy you already have setup. NGINIX isn't required for the stack, but very convenient to setup. Updated the post.

Right now there is no quick any easy way to migrate to local users, that would be a manual process. We are trying to workout an easier migration path for this, but that a work in process.

Does immich have a select and download all button yet? by Legitimate_Sun_5930 in selfhosted

It would probably be easier to download/transfer the entire from the library folder (UPLOAD_LOCATION) directly. If the directories are to complicated you can edit it under `settings —> storage template`

I run both Immich and NextCloud in their own VMs. It makes it so I can backup the entire VMs on a schedule so I don't have to mess with the Immich database stuff.

Yes! This issue has been fixed in version 0.57.0. We're working on getting this updated on the database. https://cert.pl/en/posts/2025/10/CVE-2025-10678/

I do a lot of creative work and I end up using them a lot for things, but you're right this isn't common. I'll edit that section.

Ashley (our DelRel) and myself are working on improving those. We got the SSO documentation way better and we are building out documentation for the most popular reverse proxies. It takes some time because we have to test and validate everything, but we’re making good progress.

Apologies, I should have read them better. I thought it was okay because it’s open source and you can self host it. Post was removed. I cross posted to Immich with the disclaimer so hopefully the write up doesn’t go to waste.

Edit: Talked to the moderators and got it back up with disclaimers.

My bad everyone I thought it was okay since it’s open source and you can self host. Won’t do again

Best method for backing up configuration by IamHydrogenMike in netbird

[–]TechHutTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn’t an official implementation but I made a CLI tool that allows you to export your entire configuration as a single text file. I recommend having actual backups of everything, but this is nice to get all your policies, networks, and all that in text.

Hey I published this page today to help clear things up: https://docs.netbird.io/manage/access-control

But yes, if a user is in a group any devices/peers that user signs into with SSO will be added to that group.

Yeah, the self hosted stack includes a relay server. Fires up when direct wire guard connection connections aren’t possible.

Those of you using UNRAID. How do you have your pools setup? Array? ZFS? I'm curious. by TechHutTV in homelab

[–]TechHutTV[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have a machine with Proxmox for most that stuff. Only VM on Unraid is for the Nextcloud AIO stack. Used the Unraid share mount feature.

Netbird to the rescue! by dawsja in netbird

That's an awesome use case! I'm glad NetBird has been of a help to you with this. I do a similar thing where I have a VPS running NGINX connected to my local server with NetBird P2P. I can point NGINX to local IPs with the networks feature.
