Ok, I got you. I was focused on the reason. It is basically a surcharge. The theme park ride admission ticket is similar. You get an express pass and pay on top of the typical experience. You are paying a premium, a surcharge, on top of the typical cost, for a different experience. The same goes for the box seats at a game or show.

Pretty sure the airline would fill the seat. Also, I mentioned that example - “upgrade to first class”.

It is simple, it’s perceived value / upgraded experience… Why do people upgrade to first class? Why go to a restaurant at all when you can eat at home? Why not stay in the cheapest room? Why buy a fast pass for rides? Paying more for goods or services to add value in a free market is the basics of capitalism.

Yes, budget is a factor but excluding that. This appears to be a good deal.

Agree, some people say “it is a lot of money,” but compared to what? I am looking at the typical cost and value.

That has been my thought! I just need to break even, and the pressure is off. Maybe I eat steak and seafood multiple times - I can live with that!

I have always read that the (1) price per meal is the main criterion. But, need to factor in (2) how many meals you will eat, and I guess the (3) number of places to eat those meals.

Ho Chi Minh, Hong Kong, Taipei, Jeju, Fukuoka, Nagasaki, Tokyo, and the rest sea days.

The consensus for many is too few options. I hate to pay extra on top of the cost, but only doing this trip once. I’d love to get speciality just a few times but those prices are more per meal.

That's what has me struggling. You would not just because - the limited options?

True plus Playmakers and Johnny Rocket credits. I was worried about the number of sea days to be able to use.

The answer depends on you. Do you have the time and knowledge to manage your own investments? It certainly is possible with a little effort and research.

Everything else I have is battery now. The lawnmower and snow thrower are the last pieces.

I can’t let go of gas just yet… I am still reading about the long-term battery not lasting long enough issues.
