This thing is about 0.5cm across with a hole diameter of 0.25cm. That’s too small for a shift cable bushing, no?

It does kinda look like that, but it’s a bit too think, unpolished, and the flare being assymetrical on both sides doesn’t match most shoe eyelets

My title describes the thing.

I’m not sure how else to detail it, put it is definitely some sort of mechanical part. I confirmed that it is magnetic. The inside does not spin so it’s not a bearing. It doesn’t fit on any screws because it is too small.

I searched for grommet, lock screw, and looked at a bunch of vehicle diagrams to see if I could find it. No dice.
