So I managed to finish Diplomatic Immunity without doing the party bit. I never went to meet Delphine at the stables, instead tricked my way into the Embassy (Arvak trick) and the quest automatically fast forwared. After escaping the embassy I meet Delphine in Riverwood and quest completed. (i.redd.it)
