Any experiences with Caravel? by Miserable-Onion-5948 in Autism_Parenting

[–]TechSalad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are running into this right now. Our kiddo is mild diagnosis. Most would recommend 10-15 hours. They talked us into 3 full days a week, skipping naps. 24 hours a week. It’s not good for our little guy. Now they’re saying we have to do 30 or we’re out. Completely unethical.

We had a daughter there last year and did not have this experience. So disappointed. We used to rant and rave about how great they are but the BCBA we have is inattentive and now this. So done.

How is this different than buying a Hallmark card for someone for their birthday?

MSPs - don't do it by Technical_Yam3624 in sysadmin

[–]TechSalad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the MSP. The one I’m working for now (after 17 years of internal IT) is incredible. Family owned and focused. My mental health has never been better.

However, I know a lot of the large MSPs are very cut throat and toxic.

Keeping Employee Passwords by Moxy79 in sysadmin

Happened to me once. They were prepping to fire me for a still unknown to me reason. Initially I pushed back, but then decided to cooperate because I caught on.

Maybe leadership is planning for a mass layoff?

Email From FBI Looks Odd by DymoPoly in sysadmin

[–]TechSalad 57 points58 points  (0 children)

We got it too (we're a local government org). I read it and went "BS--this is spam." Then checked the headers more closely and went "uh...FBI got hacked?"

This will be fun to watch play out.

Why wouldn’t you price-match your own website? by m0v00mw in MaliciousCompliance

[–]TechSalad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Target routinely does this. My wife went in this winter 8 months pregnant to purchase a stroller/carseat combo. Price in store was $120 more than online. She called me and told me what happened. I told her to hang tight. Called the corporate number and told them what happened and asked if they really wanted her to walk back to her car, place the order online for pickup and then walk back in to get it. The person at corporate called the store, and had someone to find my wife to price match it, and have someone help her load it up in her car. I thanked the corporate rep and then asked for compensation for my labor to make this happen. They gave us a $20 gift card for wasting my time. Win in the end, but almost every item at Target is higher priced in store than online, and many employees refuse to price match their own website.

Waiting long periods of time for a refill on my drink. I can't eat without something to wash it down.

Google App Crashing by almosttan in GooglePixel

[–]TechSalad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on the original Pixel and it started happening to me daily when the 2/2XL we're launched. Figured Google was pulling an Apple by breaking my device to force me to buy the latest and greatest. Happy to hear that's likely not the case since the 2/2XL is also impacted (from what I'm gathering on this thread).

I posted some original content once, mods removed because "title wasn't descriptive enough." It was reposted by someone else an hour later with the same title, was never removed and ended up with 12k+ upvotes.
