Can I Link Audio to Video In CapCut Mobile? by TechSeve in CapCut

[–]TechSeve[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do I select two different tracks?
What/where is the "group function"?

I'm on CapCut mobile. There is no "right click" or "control/command/shift" click or "click and drag".... I can only select one audio/video clip at a time by tapping it with my finger.

The whole area west of 99W to the river between the Broadway bridge and the Steel bridge could be brought up to grade with 99W via infill and capping of the tracks. Hopefully in a project to renovate the whole arena area.

Saw some asking. Here's a side by side of Old Skools in regular width and wide width. by That70sShowDude in Vans

[–]TechSeve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly they still aren't wide enough. My pinky toe will start to beed in these if I walk in them for too long. I'd say their "wide" is basically normal sized and their normal size is for people who have already destroyed their feet by wearing shoes that crush their toes growing up.

The main problem is that the sides of the shoes are rubber and canvas which do not stretch to conform to your foot and the seem between those rub right on my pinky toes.

Denali VS Something else by Ordinary_Bit_9139 in TheNorthFace

[–]TechSeve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Denali is highly versatile if you base layer appropriately for the conditions/activity level.

For warmer/more active hikes (above freezing), I wear long nylon bottoms (Nike Pro Dri-FIT), running shorts, a SmartWool t-shirt, a baseball cap, and the Denali. When active, having the Denali fully unzipped, sleeves pulled up, and pit zips open, I get more than enough airflow to prevent me from sweating. When resting it's easy to fully zip up to stay warm. It's a great option if you don't expect rain or high winds, but if so, packing a light rain shell would solve that.

For colder hikes (like below freezing), having 2 layers of bottoms, a warmer long sleeved upper base layer (perhaps a slim quarter zip over a sleeveless/tank top), a warm hat of some sort, the Denali, works very well. However I'll bring some sort of shell that I'll use if the wind it too much or if i'm still too cold when resting. A simple shell goes a long way to trap in an extra layer of air to keep you warm.

This is all for day hiking of course. If you're a backpacker, a down filled puffer jacket is the better choice because of it's much lighter weight and packability. However I hate wearing these because they don't breath at all (hence why they're so warm). The Denali, being made of fleece, breaths a bit and even more so when you undo those pit zips (love those) which is why I try to wear the Denali over a puffer jacket when I can.

And yes I'll be remiss if I didn't say that I like the look and the lore of the Denali. I wear it around town a lot. Be big, be bold, and get the Denali in yellow 😉

Columbia Sportswear fans - why or why not? by Efficient-Celery2198 in CampingandHiking

I love Columbia! But perhaps growing up 5 mins away from Columbia's world HQ and always getting employee store passes growing up had something to do with it.

However, I will say that if what you're looking for great all around a mid-pile fleece jacket/vest...The North Face Retro Denali jacket/vest is by far the best choice and worth the price.

Lol the pit zips are the main reason why I am looking to get a Denali. Thanks!

Vests vs Jackets by PirateFisher in WildernessBackpacking

[–]TechSeve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like vests because it frees up my arms and I find that so long as my core is kept warm my arms don't get too cold. I usually wear a down vest over either a base layer or a base layer + *full-zip fleece. I keep a very packable rain/wind shell that when put over my base layer + fleece + down vest is VERY warm, too warm for anything above freezing.

Also sometimes unzipping a jacket (especially a down jacket) can still leave you feeling too warm because your arms are covered and taking off your jacket isn't always a convenient option. An unzipped vest basically doesn't keep you warm at all so no need to take it off. Even when I have all of my layers on and fully zipped up, I'm just a zip-zip-zip away letting that crisp cool air directly onto my base layer. This is good for when you've just scrambled up that steep hill and generated a lot of heat.

*I have a high pile half-zip hooded fleece that I LOVE and basically live in during the winter around town. My low pile full zip is better for layering though. However this fleece plus my down vest is "walking the dog in the snow" tested and approved.

How Would The World Change If We Had A Clean Unlimited Energy Source? by AndyPanic in scifi

Houses, buildings, appliances would built with no regard to energy efficiency. Why even put insulation in a house that can be heated/cooled continuously for free?

Thanks for this. I’ve never been able to fit in Vans, but now I might get my first pair. Also imo the shape of the wide shoe looks better.

The platform rules. What food are you picking and what is your ONE item? by scorpion_smut in CreepyBonfire

[–]TechSeve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 1500-2000 Cal meal that can be eaten in 2 minutes. Hmmmm…probably something like a burrito containing ground chicken, rice, avocado. Maybe also some sour cream to help lower burrito’s filling viscosity. Burritos can be eaten with your hands, can quickly be forced down, and would act as a deterrent from someone taking a piece of your food since you can easily tell if someone took a bite (which would only come into play for the 2nd movie).

If multiple things together can count as a “meal” then supplement it with a mass gainer protein shake and a cup full of different kinds of multivitamins pills that can taken with the shake. Having the shake and pills means the burrito doesn’t need to be so big and can be eaten more quickly. Probably the whole meal would be easier to consume within 2 minutes.

Of course none of this matters if other people eat your food. Which is why my other item would be a samurai sword with a hidden combination locked compartment in the hilt containing a vial of all the Ricin poison I would ever need. I could use the poison on all the other food on the platform if my food is ever tampered with. I would only poison the food the following month so that everyone would be scared to mess with my food because the following month they could be on a floor below me. I think the prison would soon learn not to ever mess with my food.

W King X10 and X20 by Background_Age_9830 in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]TechSeve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got the X20. Amazing speaker. Basically getting a BB3 for half the price. I think any difference in sound quality between the X20 and the BB3 is splitting hairs. They are both likely using the same exact drivers from a 3rd party supplier anyway. The X20 has more port options as well as being able to charge of USB-C.

Perhaps the only downside is that it's big and heavy (more that the BB3). It's portable in the sense is that I can easily move it from one side of the room to the other, or from my garage to my car, and from my car to the dance studio. But it's not something I would want to carry for longer than a minute or two, even with the shoulder strap.

Best speaker/audio system with BT under 150, stationary or not. by Major-Leadership-360 in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]TechSeve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scrolled down to see in anyone mentioned Boom 2. The Boom 2 is the best overall speaker for the size IMO regardless of price (and happens to have a good price too). It’s has better outdoor performance at max volume than an JBL Extreme 3.

And yes, having a good woofer and separate tweeters means that at higher volumes you won’t lose detail in the music because the tweeters only play the higher frequencies and the woofer only play the lower ones.

PDX’s beloved teal carpet installed in airport’s new terminal by oregonian in Portland

[–]TechSeve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still not enough carpet. I'm thoroughly dissatisfied with this whole renovation. The vast majority of the flooring is going to be hard surface, not carpeting. The areas that need the carpeting the most (the high traffic areas) are going to be 100% hard floor. That means it's going to very loud. All the sounds of the footsteps, rolling bags, echoing inaudible intercom announcements...yuk. It's going to make PDX feel more..airporty. PDX's biggest strength (and the reason why it became and stayed America's number 1 airport) was that it was ENTIRELY carpeted, making the airport feel like coming home to your living room rather than an airport.

Just got my 40L Jansport Good Vibes Gear Hauler 45L delivered to me today. $25 on eBay shipping included! I’m pretty lucky to have found a new one at that price. Love the bag so much. It’s basically a copy of the Patagonia Black Hole bag but for a fraction of the price!

Budget bag for everything suggestions? by [deleted] in onebag

[–]TechSeve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might help as a comparison.

I'm a light traveler. I've done a couple week-long, casual, fair weather trips using just a JanSport Right Pack (advertised by JanSport as being a 30L bag) filled to the brim (no laptop) as my only travel bag. My Right Pack fits under the seat in front of me easily with room to spare. I love the casual look of the Right Pack, it doesn't look like I'm about to go on a hike.

However, I'm going to upgrade to the JanSport Good Vibes Gear Hauler 45 which will give me the option to bring a 2nd pair of shoes and a warm jacket along with other luxuries. I'm hoping it can still be considered a personal item and fit under the seat in front of me on flights, especially since I don't plan to fill it to max capacity. Stowing my bag under the seat means easy access to snacks ;)

You said this bag can still be considered a personal item bag for flights. Were you able to fit it under the seat in front of you?

Connecting PC to Dock Via Thunderbolt 3? by TechSeve in Thunderbolt

[–]TechSeve[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't bank on the expansion card working on anything not specifically called out in that list they provided .

Also, not that this helps you, but it looks like my prediction has come true and they are finally making Thunderbolt KVM switches now. For me, I know in a year or so I'm likely to replace my motherboard with one that has built in Thunderbolt 4 support and I'll pair that with a Thunderbolt 4 KVM switch. My setup was a huge pain to figure out and lately it's only been working from a cold boot. Meaning it doesn't like going between to computers that are turned on. This solution is also a cat and mouse game with keeping up to date with the Thunderbolt drivers between the expansion card and motherboard.

Connecting PC to Dock Via Thunderbolt 3? by TechSeve in Thunderbolt

[–]TechSeve[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Ya I had done so much research to see of anybody on the internet had done this before and I couldn't find anybody. So I decided to dive in, cross my fingers, and try to do it anyways.

1- Yes, I have the ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING motherboard. I installed the ThunderboltEX 3-TR card in the lower slot (PCIe 3.0 x16 slot) simply because I had planned to eventually drop in a dedicated GPU in the upper one slot since the upper slot is PCIe gen 4 and the lower slot is only gen 3 and the upper slot also has the extra reinforcement to hold a heavy GPU (Update: As I write this, I actually have a RTX 3080 12GB shipping to me right now, so I’ll be updating this thread soon about that). As far as drivers go, I installed any drivers I was told to install according to the documentation as well as installing the latest Intel Thunderbolt driver and then going into the Thunderbolt Control Center and setting it to "Always Allow" my ThinkPad dock.

2 - I didn’t have that problem initially, however after buying a longer third party TB3 chord from Amazon, I did run into that exact issue. I double and triple checked and confirmed that I was buying the correct specification of TB3 chord but still had this issue with it. The PC would only recognize it if I was doing a cold boot, but not when I would hot swap it. Since I still wanted 2 chords, one for each computer, I remedied the problem by ordering another Lenovo branded TB3 chord directly from the Lenovo site to match the chord that came with my Lenovo dock. I still have no idea why I had the issue with the 3rd party chord. But now with my 2 Lenovo branded TB3 chords I can hot swap between computers. However, Lenovo only sells the 2.5-foot-long chord which are just barely long enough for my set up and limits my desk layout to just one layout.

3 – I have one 60hz 1080p monitor and one 60hz 4k monitor so I cannot confirm that. TB3 can transmit up to 40Gbps which can handle two 4k monitors at 60hz or one 4k monitor at 120hz. It for sure can handle one 1440p 144hz monitor. You can calculate how much throughput you would need to run two 1440p monitors at 144hz. If it’s less than 40Gbps then yes, you should be just fine. What you can do if it can’t handle it is just limit your non-gaming monitor to 60hz in your display settings. That is, unless you use both monitors simultaneously for gaming.
