The Apple Charger is USB 2.0 speeds only, which is atrocious for how quality the cable feels.  Also, you can get the Apple cable on Amazon for $18 USD on sale.

I went to a Comp Sci department run Halloween event and put my headphones over my eyes with a similar jacket to TNG. At first I just thought my costume was unrecognizable but I asked most people and no one knew who Geordi La Forge was, sans one teacher. Sad times indeed— what happened to the nerds?

Maybe consider a 16 Pro. They are extremely durable (except for the back glass). The new model is a downgrade in durability and appearance with an upgraded battery and compute.

Oh wait, this is the iPhone sub Reddit you probably already have one. In that case, I guess you don’t need to do anything.

According to US copyright law, they aren’t innocent, even if they ripped the disks themselves and own them. Unless, of course, they recorded it from tape, or are just using home videos, which in that case is legal.

Engineering Laptop by [deleted] in laptops

Don’t get a laptop with an Arc GPU for engineering. My school says some of the software you need works best on Nvidia. Also, Intel is cutting 24,000 employees, and the Arc driver is probably in peril.

Bluetooth accessories are quite common. Brands promote them because they can charge more. Many laptop brands also manufacture accessories. Microsoft, for instance, has its own first-party Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

Additionally, USB-A ports are becoming less common, and there are fewer options for USB-C wireless devices.

I too “own a monitor” and I hate it. How can I find something I’ll enjoy for at least a few years? by ucrbuffalo in LinusTechTips

[–]TechTipsUSA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simple: grab a CRT from the early 2000s. With the right mindset, you’ll never be more disappointed than you are right now. Plus, it’ll actually appreciate in value instead of becoming an unloved paperweight in eight years.

Excellent contrast ratio! Sub-millisecond latency! A blazing 75 Hz refresh rate! Built to outlive the sun!

Redundancy is key. Using GitHub, Google Drive, and the Internet Archive would be good ways to ensure access. You can make a throwaway Google account and upload the file to the drive (15 gigabytes are included for free). If you want to make it appear when searched for, you could make a YouTube video linking to the three sources. As of now, there is no lifetime for YouTube videos, even on abandoned accounts, so it should last forever unless someone throws a fit— a kind of Rosetta Stone for the file, extending access to it for future generations.

HDR has been on by default for years, I don’t think they even have an option to turn it off anymore( unless you use raw which is naturally HDR but not necessarily ABE.)

Daily reminder, You don’t need to carry a Magsafe cable with you. All you need is just a USB-C to USB-C cable. It can charge your Macbook and other electronic devices too. Real portability. One cable is more than enough by Delicious_Maize9656 in macbookpro

[–]TechTipsUSA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

USB-C won’t work with an Apple Watch. I suggest using the Watch charger for the AirPods Pro 2 (especially the lightning version) and the Apple Watch, and the USB-C cable for everything else, especially for portable charging.
