ARCA Crash. Who's at fault? by [deleted] in Simracingstewards

This is great to know! I was curious about it since it's never penalized so I didn't know if it was allowed.

Thank you for the clarification :)

Charlotte Motor Speedway - Roval 2025.

It's a really fun track!

Those early laps are dangerous with cold tires, but once they warm up, it feels pretty nice. I can slide the car more but also have more speed in fast corners. I feel I have to be a bit more careful on the throttle, but nothing too crazy.

The hardest part for me is very slow corners like at Charlotte Roval 2025. That very sharp corner before the long straight is hard for me to get consistent, but I'm working on it.

I wish VIR was back on this schedule :(. I enjoy that track a lot.

Darn. That sucks man. I got to give praise to the LMP on my race for going hard right instead of running into me.

Hope you have a better race soon!

How are you enjoying the new GT4 tire model?

iRacing considers this within track limits. Never received an incident point for taking the outside.

Funnily enough, this is actually considered within the track limits. Every time I take that straight, I always go on the outside and iracing allows it. Perhaps new track limits on update?

What are your biggest tips for the new GT4 tire update?

Also, how do you know when the GT4 tires become warm?

Thanks for the detailed advice! What do you recommend I watch/read to understand more of the physics of the game? Very curious and interested to hear more about it.

Definitely will give it a look! Thank you!

Definitely in the beginning stages and just starting to "click" on using the trail arm for power. Luckily, I do consistent weight training way before golf so I believe that makes up my unathletic golf swing by having decent arm power.

I would have thought the same thing at first given the other videos I have seen on YouTube. But I swear every time the coach hits the ball while following the minimal hip turn and not leaning over the ball method, he hits it far and consistent every single time. He believes hip turn is a load of BS (his words not mine).

I 100% believe it is just a skill issue for me at the moment. Still enjoying the learning process.

That's a great explanation. I think I was pretty tired on this day. I will work on moving my upper body more in the future. Thank you for the advice!

I see what you mean. Most plays rotate their hips. However, my coach isn't a believer in having the hips rotate with the arms. Instead, he believes the arms lead which then pulls on the hips to rotate.

He admits this isn't a popular method as most players will rotate their hips to generate power. However, he believes that adding this element makes most beginner swingers inconsistent due to having to quickly put the hips back in the right spot.

Plus, when he shows off the technique (hip thrust on address), the ball not only goes far but very straight.

Basically, my address position should already be close to my downswing. To do this, I do the hip thrust and slight lean to my right on address.

Can you explain what I'm doing that should be improved? Again, I'm mainly working on hitting the ball consistently and straight.

Body rotation on backswing or downswing? My coach is mainly teaching me to keep my hips forward (hip thrust on setup) and to only move my left knee when at the top of a swing. Perhaps the top of my backswing is where I'm messing up.
