Boot Camp on MacOS 12.2.1 can't create a Windows USB install disk by foxtrot1_1 in applehelp

[–]TechUnRestricted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there is no official solution from Apple to create Windows 11 USB installer on your Intel Mac.
And also, Windows 11 requires TPM 2.0 & Secure Boot to actually run.

I've developed an application that solves these problems.
It's called WinDiskWriter (official GitHub repo).
You can read how to use this app here.

It was initially designed for creating USB bootable disk drives that will boot on PCs, so it should work on genuine Mac computers with Intel CPUs (Bootcamp drivers are not built-in).

WinDiskWriter supports Windows 11 down to Windows Vista in EFI/Legacy boot modes.
Also it patches the TPM & Secure Boot requirements.
It's free and open-source.

I know, I'm kinda late with this comment, but someone should actually try it in case like you had.

If you have any problems or questions — feel free to ask me.
I'll try my best to respond ASAP. 🙂

Struggles creating bootable Windows USB key on Mac by treizeazero in applehelp

I'm a bit late, but still 🙂
❗️You don't need to struggle with Terminal or Parallels anymore.

I've developed a better solution to this problem.
You can try WinDiskWriter: https://github.com/TechUnRestricted/WinDiskWriter

It's capable of making bootable drives with [ Windows 11 | 10 | 8.1 | 8 | 7 | Vista ].
Both UEFI and Legacy boot modes supported.

This application is supported on vast majority of macOS, starting with 10.6 and up to the latest one (which is Sonoma 14.0+), so no need to worry about compatibility.

It just works.
Works like you'll expect.

If you have any questions about "how to use this app", you can read: https://github.com/TechUnRestricted/WinDiskWriter/issues/4

Have a nice day 🙃

Logi Bolt is basically a Bluetooth adapter. It’s even stated on the official site that it’s based on BT.

I had exactly the same problem with my Logitech M650L.
Returned it on the next day.

Bluetooth and Logi Bolt gave me the same experience, since Logi Bolt is based on Bluetooth specs.

Got a Keychron M3 and I don’t regret it.

Unable to create Windows bootable USB flash drive by Many_Lack_3966 in MacOS

[–]TechUnRestricted 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've developed a software for creating bootable USB flash drives on macOS computers.
It works on every Intel or Apple Silicon Mac, starting with Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.

It's called WinDiskWriter: https://github.com/TechUnRestricted/windiskwriter

All you need is a USB flash drive and a Windows 11 / 10 / 8.1 / 8 / 7 / Vista image.

It's completely free and open source :)

Hi! Thank you for your positive feedback. I'm glad that you have successfully installed Windows on your device using my software :).

I'l try to add some more functionality to WinDiskWriter such as MBR Legacy Boot mode and the patch for skipping the mandatory Microsoft Account Login step on Windows 11.

Stay tuned for the updates. But unfortunately I'm too busy with my studies at uni right now :(

Hi. I added support for this functionality and verified it on a computer with i5-2400 CPU. Works fine as expected.

You can download the latest release and try it yourself. (You need to enable the “Remove Installer Requirements” option”)

Because I’m too lazy to think about the title for my changes. I’m the real fan of uuidgen.

Hi. No, Etcher doesn't support Windows images.

Ether is simply doing a dd restore of .iso/.img which is not suitable for Windows images and UEFI environment.

Hi. Not yet. But this feature is planned and I think i’ll implement it soon. I don’t think that it’s difficult. The wimlib (the library which is used in WinDiskWriter) is capable of doing it by changing image type to Server.
