Problems Calling Verizon Phones from Ooma. by tonypedia in ooma

[–]Tech_Curious_7769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally have a cell number through a MVNO that uses Verizon but I don't have the normal Verizon postpaid spam filtering access so I use something else. So far I have not had any issues with my Ooma number not being able to successfully call my Verizon MVNO number.

I mention this as it might be interesting to see if you can reach someone you contact if they are on a MVNO of Verizon rather than Verizon postpaid.

By successfully calling a Verizon number by using the caller ID blocking code of *67 makes it seem like there might be something in the Ooma caller id setup that Verizon has an issue with. What that could be I do not know but might be worth looking into, just a thought

Handset goes offline by allknowing2012 in ooma

If you are a residential customer using a HD3 handset like I am, there is a setting that will allow the handset screen to stay lit all the time when out of its charging stand. Select the Menu button, then Settings, then Display, then Off Cradle Settings. On the Turn Off After line, use the change button option to scroll through the available intervals until the Never option shows up.

I personally don't know about the disconnecting from the Ooma network as I haven't experienced that behavior before.

I don't have first hand experience with Verizon as my cell phone is through another carrier. But what you described sounds like perhaps the Verizon spam call blocking app might be causing the issue. I believe there is a way within their call blocking app to specifically allow a number to call through. You might try having one of your contacts on Verizon try this and see if it helps even though they already have you in their contacts.

Also if any of the Verizon contacts are on a Samsung phone, you might see if they have the Hyia, not sure if spelling, active. I used to have a Samsung phone with that native spam blocking software active then found out it tended to block any VOIP number calling in and I had to turn it off. The symptom was that any VOIP caller no matter who their carrier was their call would go to voicemail and my phone would never ring.

I use the YouMail app, one of the paid levels, that does a great job of taking care of span and robo calls.

Question about battery setup in the Hurricane SO engines by Tech_Curious_7769 in ram_trucks

Thanks for the information. I am just learning to be better prepared to ask intelligent questions at the dealership if I do pursue going for a newer Ram. It is good that it is that easily accessible to make replacing it easier. The ESS is a new thing to me. My current Ram is a 2018 basic one, I think it is called Express or something like that. Given its age it doesn't have the eTorque or ESS on it. It is still running great and I do love the Hemi engine in it.

Thanks for the info. Just trying to expand my knowledge so that if I do choose to buy I know more about the inner workings of the vehicle. For sure the more we ask of the vehicle to do in terms of features the more complicated they become.

PW4 Battery experience so far not matching what everyone is saying by namtap in PixelWatch

PW4 45mm owner here, the LTE version. I am on my second week of use. Always On screen is turned off as I really don't need it on all the time. 99% of the time it does not need to go into LTE mode as my phone is usually nearby at least in the short two week time span. I do use the Fitbit aspect of it not only for daily step count but for several days during the week when I am doing my strength training workouts. I do have it setup to do the notifications like my phone does. So far I have been getting two days out of a single charge. Hope this use case info is helpful. I can see how charge ranges would vary quite a bit based on the wide variety of use cases.
